    Roth, Leah Lichti, daughter of Joseph F. and Barbara (Roth)* Lichti, was born in Wellesley Twp., Ont., Sept. 30, 1890; died at Nithview Home, New Hamburg, Ont., Apr. 21, 1988; aged 97 y. On Jan. 26, 1915, she was married to Nickolas S. Roth, who died on Feb. 17, 1969. Surviving are 4 sons (Silvin, Henry, Nelson, and Freeman), 2 daughters (Luella Zehr and Nelda Watson), 25 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and one sister. She was a member of Steinmann Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Apr. 24, in charge of Elmer Schwartzentruber and Fred Lichti; interment in Steinmann Mennonite Church Cemetery.

    ROTH, Silvin Lee Passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener. Silvin was born 102 years ago in Wilmot Township, a son of the late Nicholas and Leah Roth (Lichti). Silvin was predeceased by his first wife Isabel Davidson, in 1959, and his second wife Ruby Dettweiler, in 2007. Cherished father of Doug (Linda) Roth, Sharon Bonnell, Gary (Joan) Roth, Linda Roth, Jewel (Brian) Cressman. Forever remembered by his grandchildren; Dave (Angela), Brad (Marissa), Lisa (Rick), Chrissy (Chad), Raylee (Matt), Janine (Kypp), Melody (Peter), Holly (Matt), Ian (Tamara), Joy (Rolin), Curtis, Bethany, and Amy, as well as by 19 great-grandchildren. Survived by his brother Freeman and wife Carolyn Roth and manynieces and nephews; also remembered by the Davidson and Dettweiler families. Silvin is predeceased by his brothers Henry (Ethel), Nelson (Helen), and sisters Luella (Lloyd) Zehr and Nelda (Jack) Watson. He faithfully attended New Hamburg Conservative Mennonite Church. Friends and relatives are invited to the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Monday, November 5, 2018 from 6 - 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. The funeral service will take place at East Zorra Mennonite Church, Tavistock on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Silvin will be laid to rest at the 19th Line East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery.     Dr. Freeman Roth
    1931 - 2019

    Dr. Freeman Roth passed away Friday, April 26, 2019 at Grand River Hospital after a brief but intense battle with a rare, aggressive skin cancer.

    Freeman was born 87 years ago at Punky Doodles Corners. Son of the late Nicholas and Leah Roth (Lichti). Freeman was predeceased by his brothers Sylvin, Henry, and Nelson and his sisters Luella and Nelda. He is survived by Carolyn, his wife, of 60 years. Cherished father of David (Fran) and Valerie. Forever remembered by his grandchildren James and Julia.

    He graduated from University of Toronto Dental School in 1956, opening up one of the first preventative dental practices in Kitchener-Waterloo. Upon his retirement, his daughter Valerie proudly took over his dental practice.

    An early member of Rockway Mennonite Church, he also attended Chesley Lake Hallman Chapel in the summer, and would leave the ski hills on Sunday mornings in the winter to attend Emmanuel Presbyterian Church near Collingwood.

    He was a member of many charitable organizations including Pan Politae Y's Men's Club, a Charter member of Kitchener Conestoga Rotary Club, and served on the Board of Chesley Lake Association for many years.

    He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hiking trails that took him around the world. He spent countless years golfing on weekday evenings at Westmount Golf and Country Club. He was a passionate skier, known to many at Devil's Glen Ski Club as consistently being the first one on the chairlift each ski day. You could find him flying on a kite over Chesley Lake, barefoot water skiing, or riding his motorcycle along the beach road at Sauble. He loved building campfires at his summer cottage or his ski chalet, gathering his family around him at the end of the sports filled days.

    Freeman's family will receive friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St South, Waterloo on Thursday, May 9th from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Rockway Mennonite Church, 47 Onward Avenue, Kitchener, on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Scott Brubaker-Zehr officiating.

    ZEHR, Luella M. - Luella Marie Zehr, of Tavistock, passed away in Maples Home for Seniors, Tavistock, on Tuesday, July 26, 2005, in her 87th year. She was born in Wilmot township, Waterloo County on July 15, 1919, a daughter of the late Nicholas Roth and the former Leah Lichty. She married Lloyd Zehr in East Zorra township on June 7, 1939. He predeceased her on March 31, 1981. Luella was a member of Tavistock Mennonite Church where she had been a member of the W.M.S.C. Following her marriage, she had resided in East Zorra township until moving to Tavistock in 1982. She is survived by five children, Lonny and wife Pearl Zehr, Carl and wife Connie Zehr, Janet and husband Wayne Schultz, Thomas and wife Ruth Zehr, all of Tavistock, Randy and wife Linda Zehr of Guelph; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Silvin and wife Ruby Roth of New Hamburg, Freeman and wife Carolyn Roth of Collingwood; one sister, Nelda and husband John Watson of Kitchener; two sisters-in-law, Ethel Roth of Baden, Helen Roth of New Hamburg. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Gwenyth Zehr (in infancy); her son-in-law, Lloyd Zehr; three grendchildren (in infancy); two brother, Henry Roth and Nelson Roth and several "Zehr" brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.Relatives and friends were received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and will be received today (Thursday) from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in Tavistock Mennonite Church on Friday, July 29, 2005 at 10 a.m., Pastor Laurence Martin will officiate. Interment in East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery, 16th line.
