Miss Jessie Edgar, Former Resident of this Village Passes in Hamilton on Thursday

The death occurred at Hamilton General Hospital on Thursday, June 24, of Janet (Jessie) Stevenson Edgar of Dundas, formerly of Toronto. She was the second daughter of the late Thomas and Jane Edgar, Ayr, and sister of Mrs. J. Ballantyne, Galt; Mrs. A. Dean, Toronto; Mrs. George Runt, Toronto; George Edgar, Galt; Thomas, Brantford, and Arthur, Akron, Ohio. Miss Edgar was born in Scotland and lived in Ayr with the family for many years where her father practiced as a veterinary surgeon. She was much esteemed by many friends here for her kindly disposition. There was a large attendance of friends and relatives at the funeral, which took place on Friday afternoon from Ball's Funeral Parlor, Ayr, to the Ayr Cemetery. The service was conducted by Rev. W. B. Mitchell of Dundas, and the pallbearers were: James Ballantyne, Galt; Wm, G. Edgar, Wm. T. Edgar, Richard Baxter, Martin Cochrane, and George Runt, Toronto.
