    Death of Thomas Mitchell.

    After an illness of many months our esteemed townsman, Mr. Thomas Mitchell passed away at his home on Saturday last at the age of 73 years. The late Mr. Mitchell had been a resident of New Hamburg for the past thirty years, and for many years conducted the flour and feed store. Previous to coming to town he resided on a farm south of the village where he was born and raised. He was prominent in municipal affairs of the village, serving for several terms as councillor. He was a devoted adherent of the Anglican faith and a member of I.O.F. and C. O. F. lodges. The deceased was a man with a very genial disposition and of sterling qualities. and leaves a wide circle of friends who deeply mourn his departure. He was married to Catharine Heiselman, who, and two daughters, Mrs. Muirbach of Cleveland, Ohio, are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and father. The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon to St. George's church and was conducted by Rev. Thos. Hicks. Interment took place in St. James cemetery Huron Road. The bereaved family have the sympathy of their many friends in their bereavements

    Mrs. R.J. Kerr - Profound regret was felt by many friends in New Hamburg when it was learned that Mrs. Ada Kerr passed away at their home in Kitchener on Friday evening, March 11th. Death came rather suddenly after a short attack of influenza and pneumonia. The deceased was a resident of New Hamburg for many years and was a faithful and active member of St. George's Anglican Church. She had a large circle of friends in town who are grieved at her demise. She was the elder daughter of the late Thomas Mitchell and Mrs. Mitchell and was born on a farm in South Wilmot. She came with her parents to New Hamburg as a young girl and resided here for many years until she moved to Kitchener about fifteen years ago. Since residing in Kitchener she was an untiring member of St. John's Church. She was president of the Women's Auxiliary and devoted much time to church activities. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Lodge. The late Mrs. Kerr was married to R. J. Kerr, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kerr, of the Huron Road, who predeceased her a few years ago. Her father and only sister, Mrs. Alice Murbach, also predeceased. She leaves her aged mother and a large circle of friends to mourn her demise.
