    Christian Winhold

    The death occurred at the Hamilton General Hospital on Sunday, May 26th, of Christian Winhold, at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 17 days. The deceased was a well known figure in the community of South Easthope and East Zorra. He was the inventor of the famous "Farmers' Delight Sling" one of the first hay and grain unloading apparatuses on the market, through the sale of which he became widely known throughout Western Ontario, Michigan and the Canadian West.

    The deceased was born in South Easthope where he spent his boyhood days. Following his marriage to Marie Stoltz, of Manheim. He farmed for many years on the 10th line of East Zorra. He was the second last member of the Winhold family, being survived by one sister, Miss Mary Winhold. of Tavistock. He leaves his widow and five sons and five daughters namely, Gordon, of Grand Rapids, Mich.. Wilfred and Clifford, of East Zorra, Edward. high school teacher in Brantford. Franklyn at home, Mrs. Heckroth. Mich., Ernie, teacher at Mount Forrest, Laura, teacher at Preston, Idella, teacher at Windsor, Lulu, nurse, at Akron, Ohio. The late Mr. Winhold was a member of the Sebastopol Lutheran Church, to which place the funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon from his late home in Tavistock. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.

    Invention:
    He was the inventor of the famous "Farmers' Delight Sling" one of the first hay and grain unloading apparatuses on the market, through the sale of which he became widely known throughout Western Ontario, Michigan and the Canadian West.
