Elmira May 28 - John C. Allemang a member of the Elmira, Town Council died at his home, 19 Water Street this morning following a brief illness. He was 71 years old.
The late Mr. Allemang was born in Elmira and after receiving his early eduction here he moved to Preston where he conducted a successful business for several years and served on the Preston Town Council. He returned to Elmira in 1912 and has resided here ever since. He was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church. He served for 20 years on the St. James Church Board and was church treasurer for 18 years. He sang in Preston and Elmira choirs for 50 years.
Besides his wife, the former Alvina Herman of Preston to whom he was married in 1895, three daughters, Mrs. Roy (Alma) Eix of Waterloo, Mrs. John (Margaret) Merklinger of Kitchener and Miss Laura at home, two granchildren and one great-grandchild survive. A daughter died in infancy.
The remains are a the late residence until Sunday at 2 p.m. when a brief service will be held prior to removal to St. James Lutheran Church. Rev. L. H. Kalbfleisch will officiate. Interment will be in Preston Cemetery.

EIX, Mrs. Alma (Roy) - At K-W Hospital, on Saturday, Sept. 20, 1986, Alma Elizabeth Eix (nee Allemang), age 90 years, of Kitchener. Mrs. Eix was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church (Queen Street). Beloved wife of the late Roy J. Eix who predeceased her. Dear mother of John A. of Waterloo; sister of Mrs. Margaret Merklinger and Miss Laura Allemang, both of Kitchener. Lovingly remembered by her three grandchildren, John Eix of Oakville, Karen Plumb of Waterloo and Allan Eix of Port Perry and her five great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, after 7 pm today (Saturday). Funeral and committal service in the Ratz-Bechtel Chapel on Monday, 2: 30 pm with Rev. Roger Winger officiating. Interment Memory Gardens.

Allemang, Laura Mary - Died peacefully in Ottawa, on Thursday, Feb. 10, 1994. She was born on August 15, 1901, in Preston, Ontario, the daughter of John C. Allemang and the former Alvina Herman. The family moved to Elmira where she worked as Assistant Postmaster. After the death of her father she moved to Kitchener with her mother and was an active member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. In Kitchener she worked for Goudie's Department Store, the Income Tax Office and as secretary to the Lutheran Hour at which time she became a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, the church Choir, and the "Happy Gant". Her love for the Lord Jesus Christ and faithful loving service to members of her family was evident to all who knew her. In January 1991 she moved to a retirement home close to family members in Ottawa. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Merklinger, by two nephews, Kenneth Merklinger of Ottawa, and John Eix of Kitchener and by a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.
