Jim Broomfield was a proud member of the Algonquin Regiment of Canada and served during WW2 in France, Belgium and Holland. He became a POW after he was captured in October, 1944. Jim began the sport of curling at the age of 16 and he has been active every winter since 1932, except during the war. That start led to appearances in five provincial play-downs. Jimmie was an enthusiastic supporter of his favourite Yankees and Leafs and he coached minor baseball and hockey teams. James Broomfield will be inducted into the Cambridge Sports Hall of Fame on May 4th. Jim has been a member of the Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 121, for more than 6 decades.
