    HOBLER, Frances (nee Davidson)

June 3, 1923 - May 16, 2010. It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of our mother who was so very loved by her family and friends. Mom was born in Preston, Ontario where she was blessed with a life very well lived, full of blessings and joy. Mom worked for the Bell Telephone Company as a trainer, after finishing business college and once she married Dad, she made the important decision to be a "stay at home Mom" so she could appreciate and love her children and husband with grace, laughter and pride. Mom's life was enriched by her dedication to volunteering. As a lifelong and dedicated member of St. John's Anglican Church, Mom spent her lifetime in a volunteer capacity in many roles. Mom also volunteered at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital in the Ladies Auxiliary and Meals and Wheels for over 25 years, offering comfort and assistance to all who were blessed to meet her. As an avid singer, dancer, golfer, skater, reader, walker and life participant, Mom was always a pleasure to be with, seeking out the positive in any experience and revelling with delight in the abundance and beauty of nature's gifts and the joy of love and friendships. Predeceased by her loving husband Ladd in 1991 and her brothers Howard and Ken Davidson, Fran is survived by her daughters Patti Hobler (John Cressman) of Cambridge, Ontario, Sue Hobler (Zen Bodnar) of Victoria, BC, her two beloved grandchildren Ben and Devon Cressman, her sisters Connie Grimm (David) of Kitchener, Ontario, Shirley Scott (Doug deceased) of Oakville, Ontario and sister-in-law Mary Davidson of Kitchener, Ontario and their families. Fran is also survived by her extended family members, Adam and Shirley Hobler, Colleen Hobler (Frank deceased), Ross Prange (Catherine deceased), Minnie and Henry Koestal, Peter, Chris and Jacob Tarach (Janusz and Janina deceased) and their families. Mom has been compassionately cared for over the last 7 years by the loving staff of Hanning House in Cambridge, Ontario and we thank them for their tenderness, laughter, genuine thoughtfulness and especially for enriching Mom's life with continued dignity as the ravages of Alzheimer's disease slowly took their toll on Mom's life. We also thank Mom's dear friends who have continued to love and support her through her challenges with Alzheimer's. A celebration of Fran's life will be held at St. John's Anglican Church on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 3 p.m. Reception to follow. Visitation will be held at Barthel Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
