    MACPHAIL, C. Gordon - On February 21, 1980, at K-W Hospital, in his 83rd year, Gordon MacPhail, of 220 Lydia St., Kitchener, was born in Woodstock, Ont., Dec. 6, 1897. Son of the late Angus and Charlotte (Wahl) MacPhail. Survived by his wife, the former Edith L. Schneider; two daughters, Jean of Etobicoke, Marion and son-in-law Michael E. Woeller of Kitchener; grandchildren, Roger and wife Debbie of Ottawa, Jeffrey, Jean and John, all of Kitchener; one sister Mrs. Kathleen Mulveney of Hamilton; one brother John of Cambridge. He was predeceased by one brother of Ohio and two sisters, of Cambridge.

    He was proprietor and operator of MacPhail Engravers, Queen Street S., Kitchener, until his retirement. He served overseas during the First World War and was with the reserve in the Second World War as an officer in the Scotts Fusiliers. He belonged to several service clubs during his business years. He was an honorary member of the Kitchener Rotary Club. Past master of Cambridge Grand Arch Masons, he received his jewel as past master for 50 years in 1978. He was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd.

    Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, after 7 p.m. on Friday. The family will not be present. Funeral service will be held at the Ratz-Bechtel Chapel on Saturday, 2 p.m., Rev. David Woeller will be officiating in the absence of Rev. Paul Zacharias. The committal service will be in Mount Hope cemetery. Donations to the Rotary Children's Centre may be given as expressions of sympathy.

    Of 601 Duke Street, Cambridge on Friday, December 16th., 1988, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Evelyn Tremaine, dear father of Rev. John E. MacPhail of Chelmsford, England. Mr. MacPail was born in Woodstock Ontario and was a life long resident of the area. He was a retiree of Clare Brothers Limited and a member of King Street Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge, Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at the King Street Baptist Church, Cambridge, Monday, December 19, 1988, at 1: 30 p.m. Interment, Preston Cemetery.

    MARION LOUISE WOELLER 1935 - 2009 The family of Marion Woeller (MacPhail) announces her passing on February 27, 2009. She will be remembered with love by her children, Roger and Deb of Ottawa, Jeff and Annemarie of Kitchener, Jean and Dale of Calgary, and Jon and Lynn of Cambridge. Grandmother to Caitlin and Mallory, Kyle and Nicole, and Matthew and Erin. She will be remembered fondly by Michael Woeller. Marion was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Edith MacPhail; and by her sister, Jean MacPhail. Marion was born and raised in Kitchener. She was an accomplished artist, specializing in pencil renderings and water colours. Some of her favourite works were of her beloved Georgian Bay island cottage and the surrounding area. Marion was active in the community through her involvement with the Doon School of Fine Arts, the Homer Watson Gallery, the K-W Art Gallery, and Centre in the Square. She was an active, lifelong member of the Church of the Good Shepherd. A funeral service will be held in the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home Chapel, (www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445), 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 1 p.m. A reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. If desired, donations to the Church of the Good Shepherd (519-743-3845) or the K-W YMCA Camp Endowment Fund (519-584-7479 ext.216) would be appreciated. In living memory of Marion, a donation will be made to the Trees for Learning Program by the funeral home.
