    Mrs. Adeline Hostetler

    A highly esteemed and beloved citizen, Mrs. Adeline Hostetler, widow of the late Levi Hostetler, passed away last Saturday afternoon, April 26th, at her home on Jacob street in her 73rd year. Mrs. Hostetler had been in good health up to a week prior to her death when she was suddenly seized with a paralytic stroke. Subsequent attacks followed which caused her demise.
    The late Mrs. Hostetler was born at Nithburg in North Easthope, on September 26th, 1862, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Gabel. She spent her girlhood days there an following her marriage to Levi Hostetler she moved onto the Hostetler farm, a short distance east of New Hamburg. Their only son, Moses, died during the flu epidemic in 1918 and Mr. and Mrs. Hostetler sold the farm and moved to town in 1919. Mrs. Hostetler was a faithful member of the Evangelical Church and was very active as a member of the Ladies' Aid and W.M.S. as well as other departments of church work.
    Her husband died eight years ago, but she leaves in deep bereavement one grand-daughter, Miss Helen Hostetler, nurse-in-training at the Toronto General Hospital, her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Hilda Hostetler, besides two sister and four brothers, (Margaret) Mrs. Thaler, of Kitchener, (Clara) Mrs. Ed. H. Schmidt, New Hamburg, Eli and Adam Gabel, of New Hamburg, and William and Edward, of Kitchener. One brother, Spurgeon, died in Kitchener last August.
    The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon with a short service at the house followed by service in the Evangelical Church. The service was conducted by Rev. Mr. Dengis, pastor of the church and a very large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends assembled to pay their last tribute of respect to the departed. Many beautiful floral tributes were sent by church societies and sympathizing relatives and friends. Internment took place in the family plot in Riverside Cemetery.

    Death of Mr. Moses Hostetler

    It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Mr. Moses Hostetler, who died at his home on Snyder's Road, on Tuesday evening, following an attack of influenza and pneumonia, at the age of 31 years, 9 months and 28 days. He was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Hostetler and was born on the homestead, where he resided all his life, having taken over the farm several years ago. About six years ago he was married to Miss Hilda Thiel, daughter of Mr. Conrad Thiel of Fullarton Township.

    The deceased was a highly esteemed young man and his death is deeply regretted by a very large circle of relatives and friends. Besides his sorrowing wife he leaves a four year old daughter and his parents, who have the sympathy of their many friends in their sad loss. The funeral will take place on Friday afternoon to the Evangelical church and Riverside cemetery.
