    Nelson Wilfong

    Relatives in Elmira received the news this week of the death at Doon on Tuesday evening of Nelson Wilfong who passed away suddenly at seven o'clock.

    Mr. Wilfong, who was the for over half a century an employee of the Doon Twines of Kitchener, is the father of Mrs. A. Bricker of Elmira and brother of Mr. Menno Wilfong of this town. He was born at Doon where he always resided.

    Besides his wife four sons and six daughters survive: Dr. James Wilfong of Philadelphia, Herbert of Kitchener, Gilbert and Reginald of Doon, the Misses Ethel, Marguerite and Doris Wilfong, all of Doon, Mrs. A. Bricker of Elmira, Mrs. W. Spaetzel, Kitchener and Mrs. George Ayres of Doon. The funeral will be held at Doon on Friday afternoon.

Herbert Wilfong. of 409 Mill St., Kitchener, formerly of Arlington Boulevard, aged 84 years. Mr. Wilfong was born in Doon, son of the late Nelson Wilfong and the former Annie Bowyer. He had been employed at the Doon Twines Ltd, for many years. He is survived by his wife, the former Edith Forbes; by three daughters, Dorothy (Mrs. Veron Rosenberger), of Eden, Ny, and by Margaret (Peggy) (Mrs. Edward Wahl) of Kitchener and Audrey (Mrs. Ron Hube) of Utterson, Ont.; by a son James N. , of Rockwood Mich., and by three brothers Gilbert of Kitchener, Dr. James Wilfong and Reginald of Moose Jaw, Sask., and four sisters, Annie (Mrs. George Ayers) and Nellie (Mrs. Wes Spaetzel), both of Kitchener, Marguerite (Mrs. Emmerson Stange), of Floradale and Doris (Mrs. Russel Tilt) of Richmond Hill; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive; predeceased by a daughter Mrs. Marion Cameron and by two sisters, Mrs. Roxie Bricker and Mrs. Ethel Worden. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, after 7 p.m. tonight. Funeral and committal service in the chapel Saturday at 2 p.m., with Rev Terry Ingram officiating.

A member of the Doon Presbyterian Church; served as an elder for many years. Survived by two brothers Reginald and Dr. James Wilfong Moose Jaw, Sask., and three sisters, Mrs. George (Annie) Ayers and Mrs. Wesley (Nellie) Spaetzel, of Kitchener, Mrs. Emmerson (Marguerite) Stange of Floradale and Mrs. Russel (Doris) Tilt of Richmond Hill; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by one brother, two sisters and one grandchild. Ayres was born in Doon and lived most of her life in the area, a retired school teacher, and oldest member of the Doon Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends at the Doon Presbyterian Church, Tuesday, August 25th, 1992 from 6: 30 - 7: 30 p.m., where the funeral service will be conducted at 7: 30 p.m. Rev. M. Molengraff officiating. Interment in Doon Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Doon Presbyterian Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
