    EMIL BEECHEY

    The funeral of the late Emil Beechey of the Hillcrest Dairy in Preston, will be held from his late residence on Fountain street, Friday morning at nine o'clock. Service will be held at St. Clement's church by Rev. Fr. P. J. Meyer after which interment will be made in the R.C. cemetery. Besides his wife, three daughters and eight sons, there survives four sisters and one brother. They are Edmund of R.R. 2, Breslau, the Misses Clara and Nellie of Kitchener, Mrs. John Boudreau of Detroit and Mrs. J. Claydon of Preston.

    At Freeport Hospital Health Care Village, on Monday, April 8, 1991, age 75 years. Mrs. Flannery was a member of St. Michael's RC Church, Waterloo and the CWL of the church. Beloved wife of John Flannery; dear mother of Theresa Anne and her husband Jim Hacking of Waterloo. She is also lovingly remembered by three grandchildren, Cheryl Anne, Julie and Mark; five brothers, Isadore and Ralph, both of Kitchener, Charles of Cambridge, Roy of Tillsonburg and John of Elmira. She was predeceased by her parents; three brothers, Cyril, Elmer and Jim and two sisters, Dolores and Doreen. Mrs. Flannery's family will receive friends at the Edward R.     It is with sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005 at KW Health Centre of Grand River Hospital. John was born in Kossuth 89 years ago and resided in Elmira since December 1958. He was a son of the late Emil Albert and Rose Catherine (Geier) Beechey and grew up in Guelph and Preston. Loving husband and best friend of Marcella L. Hergott, whom he married July 3, 1943. Loving and cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather of Wilbert (Bert) and his wife Mildred (McCleave) and their children. John was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Church in Elmira. John had been employed at Uniroyal Chemical for 31 years until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of the Ontario Genealogy Society, Region of Waterloo Historical Society, and Woolwich Historical Society. He spent many enjoyable hours newspaper-clipping historical articles. The family will receive friends and relatives at Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur Street, South, Elmira, (519) 669-2207, today (Friday) 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers will be Friday evening at 8: 00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Teresa of Avila R.C. Beloved husband of Helen Beechey of Kitchener. He was predeceased by his first wife, Laura Beechey. Step-father of Douglas Picoski and his wife Mary of Mount Forest, Janet and her husband Grant Ertel of Waterloo and David Picoski and his wife Dana of Kitchener. He will be sadly missed by eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.     Peacefully, at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, on Wednesday, October 22, 2003, Roy E. Beechey, in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Kay Beechey. Dear father of Roy Beechey and his wife Valerie of Arden, Ontario and Peter Beechey and his wife Laurel of Tillsonburg. Dear brother of John and Marcella Beechey of Elmira: Charles and Betty Beechey of Cambridge and Ralph Beechey of Kitchener. Cherished grandfather to four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Floy Beechey (Cyril), Marie Beechey (Vincent) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters, Mrs. Jack (Marcella) Flannery as well as her husband Jack: Delores Beechey of Kitchener and Doreen Beechey of Tillsonburg: brothers Cyril Beechey, Elmer Beechey, Vincent Beechey and Isadore Beechey. Roy was a Life Member of the OMHA, a Life Member of the Tillsonburg Minor Hockey Association, Tillsonburg Citizen of the Year (1983), past member of the Kiwanis Club of Tillsonburg, Lawn Bowling Club of Tillsonburg and the Curling Club of Tillsonburg. The family received friends at Ostrander Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell St., Tillsonburg (842-5221) on Thursday, October 23, from 7-9 p.m. and today ( Friday, October 24) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers will be offered in the funeral home chapel tonight (Friday) at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 25 at 10 a.m., from St. Mary's RC Church in Tillsonburg. Interment at the Tillsonburg Cemetery.

    Roy was from the large Beechey family who had their own dairy in which he worked.
    In 1949 they moved to Elmira and purchased their own dairy. Five years later they moved from Elmira to Tillsonburg to buy Scotts Dairy in 1954 [name changed to Tillsonburg Dairies.] The dairy was sold and the family with partners, started Till-Cable T.V. The Pee-Wee story, which was originally part of the Dairy was kept. It was like a variety store and had a small grill. Kay was active in both business, when necessary, but also took care of the home front while Roy ran the business and became very involved with the Ontario Minor Hockey Association.
