    LINWOOD, JAN. 31-After a comparatively short illness, the death occurred at his home Friday morning of Christian Frederick Schleuter, a prominent resident, of Linwood, in his 59th year. Only a week ago the late Mr. Schleuter contracted influenza. Born in Linwood he spent his entire life there, and was widely known in the surrounding district. He was married 28 years ago. He was a valued member of the Lutheran Church where he was a trustee for 12 years. At the time of his death he was a member of the public school board. His widow and seven sons, survive: William, New Hamburg; Alvin and Harvey, Wellesley; Edward, St. Clements, Clayton, Clarence and Walter, at home, and five daughters, Marys Violet, Viola, Della and. Norma, all at home; two sisters and six brothers also survive: Mrs. Steph Duench Linwood; Mrs Jacob Fries, Heidelberg: Herman, Menno, Henry, John, August, of Linwood and Charles of Elmira.

    The funeral was held on Monday afternoon. Rev. Mr. Pfeiffer of SL. Peter's Lutheran Church conducted the service.

    Charles Schlueter, 81, of 30 Riverside Drive, died Sunday at K-W Hospital. Born near Linwood, January 18, 1873, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schlueter, Sr. He farmed near Elmira until five years ago when he retired and took up residence in Elmira. He was a member of St. James' Lutheran Church, Elmira, and the Canadian Order of Foresters. His wife predeceased him in November, 1953. Surviving are one son, Leroy, Elmira, and two brothers, Herman and John, of the Linwood district. Funeral was conducted Tuesday at 2: 30 p.m. at St. James' Lutheran Church, by Rev. H. W. Baetz. Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery, Elmira.

    MRS. JACOB FRIES- By Record Correspondent - Heidelberg, March 8. - Mrs. Elizabeth Caroline Fries died early Saturday afternoon following a short illness. She was in her 69th year. Mrs. Fries was born in Linwood, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schleuter. After her marriage to Jacob Fries, who predeceased her 30 years ago, they lived on a farm in Elmira for 12 years. After her husband's death, Mrs. Fries moved to Heidelberg where she has since resided. She is survived by a son, George, of Heidelberg, two daughters. Mrs. Alvin Heier of Erbsville and Emma of near Waterloo, a sister, Mrs. Mary Duench of near Hawkesville and six brothers, Henry, Menno, Herman, August and John of Linwood and Charles of Elmira. The funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon with services at 2: 15 p.m. followed by a service at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Heidelberg at 2: 30 p.m. Interment will be held in Heidelberg cemetery. Rev. Karl Knauff will officiate. Remains are resting at the Dreisinger Funeral Chapel in Elmira until (ends here)

    LINWOOD - Funeral of August P. Schlueter, 76, who died Thursday at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Elam Bowman of Mannheim, will be held Saturday at 2:30 pm at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Linwood.

    Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery with Rev. Walter Goos officiating. The body will be at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until Saturday at 10:30 am when removal will be made to the church. Friends are requested to pay their respects prior to the service.

    Born near Linwood, Dec. 26, 1876, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schlueter. He lived in the Linwood district until a year ago when he moved to live with his daughter. Mr. Schlueter was a member of St. Peter's church.

    Surviving are four sons, Albert of Linwood; Norman and Nelson of Newton and Harry of Moorefield; five daughters, Augusta of Crosshill, Mrs. Elam (Gertrude) Bowman of Mannheim, Mrs. Harold (Nellie) Vogel of Heidelberg, Mrs. Alvin (Margaret) Gingrich of Kitchener and Mrs. Robert (Elsie) Cherry of Moorefield; three brothers, Charles of Elmira and Herman and John of Linwood district and 30 grandchildren.

    His wife, the former Emma Duench, died in 1932. Two sons, two sisters and three brothers also predeceased him.

    LINWOOD Henry Schlueter, 73, passed away early this morning at his late residence here. Born in Wellesley Township, Feb. 21, 1879, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schlueter. A resident of this district all his life, Mr. Schlueter retired from farming 12 years ago and took up residence in the village. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.

    Surviving, besides his wife, the former Violet May Koch whom he married April 19, 1905, in Bridgeport, are five brothers, Charles of Elmira, August of Mannheim and Menno, Herman and John of Linwood. One daughter and two sisters predeceased him.

    The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the late residence. The body will then be removed to St. Peter's Lutheran Church for a public service. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Walter Good will officiate. The body will remain at the Dreisinger Funeral Home until 9:30 a.m. Friday when removal will be made at that time to the residence.

    Dear father of Gordon, and his wife Phyllis, Cecil and his wife Helen, Winifred and her husband Edwin Schneider, Evelyn and her husband Clarence Moser, and Mrs. Edith Stroh, all of Kitchener. Grandfather of 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. One daughter, Vera, six brothers and two sisters predeceased him..
