    WEDDING BELLS

    Married at the residence of the bride's father, Mr. Casper Mogk, by Rev. A. R. Achulzon Tuesday, April 18th, Mr. Amasa Winger to Miss Ida Amelia Mogk, both of Elmira. The bridesmaids were Miss Lizziee Mogk, the bride's sister, and Miss Ida Otto, of Toronto, while Mr. William Weichel, of Galt, and Mr. Angus Wager, of Toronto were the best men. The bride was suitably attired and looked charming in a pink and green shot silk, the first bridesmaid in a black silk and the second in a brown silk dress. The young couple were the recipients of numerous costly and handsome presents. Mr. and Mrs. J. Diegel, Mr. and Mrs. J.S. Roos, Mr. and Mrs. Krafft and Mr. Henry Mogk of Waterloo; Mrs. Stevenson of Drumbo and Miss Emily Mogk of Berlin. Besides these a large number of invited guests from the village were present. In the evening the band and maennerchor also, put in their appearance in response to an invitation and helped to enliven the proceedings with music and song. All present enjoyed themselves and were unanimous in wishing Mr. and Mrs. Amada Winger many happy years of married life. The Advertiser office joins in with them in their well-wishes and congratulations. What helped to augment the festive occasion was the fact that the bride's father, Mr. C. Mogk, celebrated the 52nd anniversary of this birthday on the same day. We wish Mr. Mogk may happy returns of his birthday anniversary.

    MRS. IDA A. WINGER

    ELMIRA,
    Oct. 1 - Mrs. Ida A. Winger, 16 Centre street, Elmira, died early this morning in the K-W Hospital where she had been ill for three weeks. Mrs.Winger attended St. Paul's Lutheran church and was active in the Ladies' Aid and sewing circle of the church. She was born in Waterloo and came to Elmira early in her life.

    She is survived by her husband, one brother, H. B. Mogk of Detroit, one sister Mrs. Fred Estel, Preston and one grandson. One daughter Mrs. Lorne Ruiz predeceased her.

    A private funeral service will be held at her late residence Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock and public services at St. Paul's church followed by interment in Elmira Union Cemetery. Rev. F. Malinsky will be in charge of the services. The remains will be resting at the Dreisinger Funeral Chapel until tomorrow when they will be removed to the residence.

    A death which particularly touched the people of Elmira occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning when Mrs. Lorne Ratz, (E. Adell Winger), beloved wife of L. Lorne Ratz, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Winger, passed away following a lingering illness.

    The late Mrs. Ratz was born in Elmira on December 8, 1894. She attended school here and later spent a year at Branksome Hall, Toronto. On June 1922, she was married to L. Lorne Ratz, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Simon Ratz, of Elmira. They lived for four years in Oshawa, Mrs. Ratz returning to Elmira about a year ago, when her health began to fail.

    The late Mrs. Ratz had a bright and genial disposition which won for her many friends. She possessed a genuine talent for painting, and when but a little girl won the prize offered by the publisher of the Girls' Annual for the best copy of a tulip made by a public school pupil in the Province of Ontario.

    She is survived by her husband and small son, Jack, as well as by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Winger, all of whom have the deepest sympathy of the community.

    The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. Winger, Centre Street. Following this, a service will be held in St. Paul's Lutheran Church of which the late Mrs. Ratz was a member.
