Mrs. Daniel M. Bowman, passed away at her home at Floradale on Friday, January 5. Deceased was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Menno S. Bauman.

Surviving are her husband, five sons, Paul, Ismael and Owen of Flor. adale, Dan of Temagami, and Elam of Yatton, three daughters, Mrs. Her. bert Wideman, (Suzannah) and Leah of near Elmira, and Sarah at home. Seven grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Henry Gingrich and two brothers, Emmanuel and Abraham Bauman, all of Floradale, also survive.

The funeral was held at 9.30 o' clock on Monday morning from her home to North Woolwich Mennonite church for service, Burial was made in the adjoining cemetery..

PAUL BOWMAN

Paul Bowman, 52, of Floradale died of a heart attack Monday at his home. He had been in ill health six years.

Born in Floradale December 4, 1903, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Bow- man. He attended the Floradale Evangelical Brethren Church and was a Sunday school superintendent, teacher and class, leader during the past several years.

Surviving are his wife, the former Ella Arnold whom he married in Grassmere April 16, 1924; one son, Coleman of Elmira; four brothers, Ismael and Owen of Floradale, Daniel A. of Elmira and Elam of Mannheim; three sisters, Mrs. Herbert (Susanna) Wideman, Mrs. John (Leah) Grosz and Mrs. Urias (Sarah) Brubaker of Elmira, and one grandson. The funeral was conducted at the Floradale Evangelical United Brethren Church Thursday at 2:30 p.m., by Rev. A. M. Schlenker. Burial was in the Elmira Cemetery.

The body rested at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until Thursday at 1 p.m., when removal was made to the church.

Mrs. Herbert Wideman, 52, formerly of Floradale, died Monday February 23, at 44 Church St., Elmira, after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Wideman, the former Susannah Bowman, was born in Floradale May 20, 1906. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel M. Bowman. Mrs. Wideman was a member of St. Jacobs Mennonite Church.

Surviving are her husband, a son, Jimmie of Elmira; two sisters Mrs. John Grosz, RR 3, Elmira; Mrs. Urias Brubacher, four brothers, Ismael and Owen, both of Floradale; Daniel of Elmira, Elam of Mannheim and two grand-daughters One brother, Paul, predeceased her in 1956.

Sarah was the last surviving member of her family having been predeceased by her parents, Daniel M. Bowman and Salina Bauman of Floradale, and by her brothers and sisters, Paul, Ismael, Susannah, Joel (in infancy), Dan, Elam, Owen and Leah. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home , Elmira on Saturday, January 3, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At 12: 30 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2009, transfer will be made to the Woodside Bible Fellowship, 200 Barnswallow Drive, Elmira for funeral service at 2: 30 p.m. followed by interment in the Elmira Union Cemetery. In her memory, donations to Gideon Bibles or Gospel Text Mission would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy. Floradale Farmer Killed By Bolt of Lightning

STRUCK WHILE CROSSING OPEN FIELD AFTER DELIVERING TELEPHONE MESSAGE TO NEIGHBOR

Walter W. Bauman, Floradale farmer, aged 32 years, was struck by a bolt of Lightning and instantly killed on Thursday night while crossing an open field after delivering a telephone message to a neighbor who did not have a telephone. It was after he had delivered the message a severe electric storm broke suddenly and he was caught out in the bad weather.

The body was found when a search was instigated by his wife, who woke up about three o'clock and finding her husband had not returned, she called neighbors who formed a search party. The deceased was found lying face down, one hand in his pocket and the other clutching his raincoat. The back of his cap was burned and one overall leg was tattered. Mrs. Bauman did not feel uneasy after her husband went on the errand and went off to bed. It was when she woke up at three o'clock and discovered he had not returned she thought something was wrong.

Phoning Mahlon Snider, a neighbour, it was not long before the party found the body. Walter Bauman was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Bauman and a member of the Evangelical Church and also an active member of the Sunday School. He is survived by his wife, the former Evelyn Bowman, also four small sons, Clare, Kenneth, David and James. Two brothers survive, Edward and Earle, of Floradale. Funeral services were held at the home and the Evangelical Church, thence to the Union Cemetery, Elmira, for interment. The funeral was attended by a large number of relatives and friend. The body rested at Dreisinger's Funeral Chapel following the accident.

Earl was a member of the Holstein Association of Canada for 61 years and received the Master Breeder Shield from the association, the highest award bestowed in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the Holstein Breed. Over the years, holsteins from his Floraholme Farm at Floradale were exported to over 30 countries. Earl was an innovator in many agricultural projects including the Waterloo County Stockyards, of which he was one of the original founders (now the Ontario Livestock Exchange and St. Jacobs Farmers Market.)-

He is survived by his wife MaryAnn of Floradale; children Jean Bowman of Kitchener, Kevin Bowman of Wawa, Harold (Jolene) Shoemaker of Elmira, Cecil (Lorna) Shoemaker of Waterloo, Glen (Verna) Shoemaker of Elmira, Paul (Lucy) Shoemaker of Montreal, Marj (Kirk) Pomerleau of Floradale, Joyce (Ben) Onyeka of Waterloo, Ken (Carol) Shoemaker of Wellesley, and Merle (Christina) Shoemaker of Kitchener. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Will be missed by brother-in-law Ivan Martin, and sisters-in-law Edna (Levi) Shantz, Matilda Martin, and Sarah Bowman. Predeceased by his parents Ishmael and Rachel (Martin) Bowman, first wife Eileen (Martin) Bowman, and brothers Sidney, Norman and Ephraim.

George was a longtime resident of Floradale, and enjoyed working at the feed mill for many years before starting his own landscaping and gardening business. George always wanted a big family, and got his wish when he remarried MaryAnn Shoemaker in 2001, growing his family from three to ten! He would often be seen on his riding mower or tractor; he always kept his furrows straight, and never met a cat he didn't love. He will be missed by all. Thank you to the staff at Caressant Care for their wonderful and compassionate care of George during his stay there.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 9, 2020 from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday, November 10, 2020 from 9-10 a.m. at Crystal View Mennonite Church, 2167 Floradale Road, Floradale. Masks are mandatory. Please remain in your vehicle until a parking attendant invites you in. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. Friends are invited to join with family for a gathering to celebrate the life of Bryan Bauman at the Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church hall, 18 Ferndale Rd., Lion's Head on Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 1-3 p.m. Thence to Erb Street Mennonite Church, 131 Erb St. W., Waterloo, where a funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 3 o'clock. Richard James Cressman

Richard Cressman died on Monday November 23rd in New Hamburg, Ontario at the age of 67. He struggled with mental health for half his life and that struggle became too great. He died by suicide.

Loving husband of Susan (Bearinger). Father of Sara Cressman (David Martin), Amanda Cressman (Bryan Peters), and Karrie Cornies (Dan). Adored Papa to Addison, Maisie, Elaina and Caleb. He was predeceased by his parents Gladys and Clayton Cressman and parents-in-law Jessie and Howard Bearinger. He is mourned by his siblings and siblings-in-law Ralph Cressman (Lois), Kevin Cressman (Janet), Chris Cressman (Dale Scott), Karen Martin (Willard), Dave Bearinger (Debbi), Jim Bearinger (Barb), Judy Osborne (Pete), Larry Bearinger (Karen), and Kevin Bearinger (Dory) and many nieces and a few nephews.

Richard wore many hats during his life - farmer, public speaker, counsellor, advice giver, thinker, designer/builder/tinkerer of many interesting machines and contraptions, shoe modifier, boat navigator, and collector of wooden roosters. He loved selling Pioneer Seeds and the opportunity it provided for him to connect with farmers. He was involved in the New Hamburg Lions Club, Waterloo Federation of Agriculture and Nith Valley Mennonite Church.

He was a good listener and really enjoyed getting to know people. He valued every friend, neighbour, and farmer in his life. He cared for all of you.

Richard was a son, husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, neighbour and friend. He will be missed by so many. To those of you who knew and loved Richard, take your time to mourn and grieve your loss knowing that he is at peace.

There are two ways to mourn with the family. Video visitation messages can be made to the family and a drive-by visitation will take place on Sunday November 29th from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm at Nith Valley Mennonite Church at 1355 Bean Rd, New Hamburg.
