    Gingerich, Barbara, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Bender, was born in Wilmot Twp., Ont.; died at her home, Shakespeare, Ont., May 19, 1964; aged 73 y. Her first husband, John Roth, died 36 years ago; her second husband, Henry Shantz, died 18 years ago; her third husband, Enos Gingerich, survives.     BENDER, Christian S. -- Suddenly, at his home, on Thursday, May 25, 1978, Christian S. Bender of Route 2, New Hamburg, age 79 years. He was born in Wilmot Township, on August 22, 1898, and had resided there his entire life. he was a member of Steinman Mennonite church, Baden. Husband of the late Lydia S. Roth, who predeceased him in 1975. He is survived by two sons, Vernon and Kenneth R., both of Kitchener and a foster daughter, Mrs. William (Florence) Zehr and 15 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, late Jacob H. Bender and the former Katherine Streicher; one brother and one sister. The late Mr. Bender is resting at the Omand-Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg after 2 p.m. this afternoon, until noon on Sunday, May 28, when removal will be made to Steinman Mennonite Church, where funeral service will be conducted at 3: 30 p.m., with Rev. Vernon Zehr and Rev. Elmer Achwartzentruber officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.

    Christian S. Bender, RR 2, New Hamburg, died at his residence on Thursday, May 25, 1978. He was 79. He was born in Wilmot Township on August 22, 1898, and had resided there his entire life. He was a member of Steinman Mennonite Church, Baden. Husband of the late Lydia S. Roth, who predeceased him in 1975.     Bender, Marcus, son of the late Aaron and Magdalene (Gingerich) Bender, was born in Wilmot Twp., Ont., Feb. 20, 1919; died at the K-W Hospital, Kitchener, Ont., following a lengthy illness, March 12, 1970; aged 51 y. 20 d. On Nov. 26, 1944, he was married to Marian Jantzi, who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons (Raymond and Ronald), 2 daughters (Elaine and Sharon), one sister (Verna-Mrs. Aden Snyder), 2 brothers (Earl and Edmund), and one foster brother (Fred Bricker). He was preceded in death by one brother. He was a member of the Maple View Church, where funeral services were held March 15, with Alvin Leis and Chris O. Erb officiating.

    BENDER, Earl G. Passed away at Knollcrest Lodge, Milverton on Sunday, October 12, 2014. Born on April 16, 1920 at Punkydoodle Corners and was married to Marie (nee Wagler) for 65 years. Beloved father of John (Joanne) Bender, Audrey (Norm) Henderson, Mary Bender, Carl (Judy) Bender, Robert (Val) Bender and Murray (Judy) Bender. Remembered fondly by grandchildren; Karen (Jan) Althaus, Marc, Lisa and Michael Bender, Mary (Brendan) Jaekl, Dave (Karen) Henderson and Janice Henderson, Andrea (Ian) Cattrysse, Chris Bender, Matt (Kelly) Bender, Joe, Katrina, Will and Wyatt Bender, Aaron, Amanda and Lauren Bender. Great-grandfather of Elizabeth, Matthew Jaekl, Alexander, Isabelle Henderson, Jacob Bender and Fiona Althaus. Survived by his sister Verna (Aden) Snyder, sisters-in-law; Marion (Marcus) Leis and Jean (Edmund) Bender. Also remembered by the Wagler family and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Aaron Bender and Madeline (nee Gingerich), brothers; Fred Bricker, Ammon, Marcus and Edmond Bender. Earl owned and operated Bender's Garage in Crosshill from 1948-1979 and was well known, well liked and respected mechanic. He then worked at Sunar Hausermann for 10 years and later at Foxwood Golf Course. Visitation will be held at Crosshill Mennonite Church on Thursday, October 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the church on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Mapleview Mennonite Cemetery. Funeral services conducted by Pastor Julie Ellison-White. Donations may be made to SIM (www.sim.ca) or Knollcrest Lodge.
