Miss Caroline Edler, 92, of Elmira, died June 2 after a long illness.

Born in Woolwich Township on Jan 7, 1876, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Edler. She lived in Elmira for 69 years and was a member of Zion United Church, Elmira.

Survivors include three sisters Marie Elmira, Ethel Bauch[?] Toronto and Violet, Kitchener. She was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.

The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, where the service was conducted in the chapel Tuesday. Burial was at Elmira cemetery. Rev. M.F. Reuber officiated.

MISS LAVINA EDLER PASSES AT DETROIT

Word was received in Elmira on Friday of the sudden passing in Detroit of Miss LaVina Katherina Edler. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Edler of this town and had been residing in Detroit for approximately 35 years.

Miss Edler was a devoted member of the Mack Avenue, Evangelical Brethren Church of Detroit and enjoyed her fellowship with the church.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Wherever she went she scattered sunshine and had a ready smile for everyone. Her motto was "others", and all who came in contact with her were cheered by her sunny disposition.

She is survived by four sisters, Mrs. H. R. Hauch (Ethel) of Toronto; Miss Violet Edler, Kitchener; Misses Carrie and Marie Edler of Elmira; and also a large circle of friends and relatives.

Funeral services were conducted by Conference Superintendent Rev. W. H. Watson in Detroit on Sunday afternoon, after which the body was shipped to "Elmira and rested at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, until Monday afternoon when a service was conducted by Rev. C. B. Heckendorn, pastor of the Zion Evangelical United Brethren Church, Elmira. Burial was made in the Elmira Cemetery.

EDITH C. EDLER PASSED AWAY
CALLED RATHER SUDDENLY FROM THE VALE OF TEARS TO THE HOME ABOVE
The people of Elmira last Thursday received a great surprise and shock when they heard that Miss Edith C. Edler had passed away, for few had heard of her illness at least of any serious condition. On the previous Tuesday evening, while on her way to attend the school concert, she suddenly collapsed. She was taken home and a doctor was called. He, however, could do nothing for her as she lapsed into a coma and never regained consciousness. Kidney trouble caused her death.
The deceased was born near Elmira, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Edler. She attended Elmira public school and Kitchener high school. Later she got a good position in Detroit, where she remained for a number of years. Here, also, she was active in church and Sunday Schoolwork. About a year ago ill health compelled her to come home for a rest. She was able to go back for a time, but again had to cease work, the insidious disease having undermined her system.
She is survived by one brother, Albert of Seaforth, and six sisters, namely, Carrie, Luella an Marie at home, Ethel (Mrs. R. Haueh) of Moncton, N. B., Vina of Detroit and Violetta of Kitchener.
The funeral took place on Monday afternoon. Rev. E. H. Bean, of the Evangelical church, preached the funeral sermon, taking from Jer. 15:9 the words: "Her sun went down while it was still day." The pallbearers were: Aaron Miller, Wm. G. Brox, Sylvester Bowman, O. H. Schmidt, Addison Shoemaker and Menno Snider.

LUELLA EDLER

There passed away at her home in town on Wednesday, July 15, Luella Edler, after a lingering illness. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Edler and was born and educated in Elmira. Luella was of a very kind disposition and will be greatly missed by her brother and sisters. She leaves to mourn her loss Albert of Seaforth, Mrs. Harold R. Hauch of Moncton, N.B., Violet of Kitchener, Vina of Detroit, Carrie and Marie at home, Edith and Harvey predeceased her. The funeral will be held from her late residence on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock to the Evangelical church and then to the Elmira cemetery for interment.

Beloved aunt of Robert Hauch, Lenora Southgate and Margaret Tichbourne. She was predeceased by six sisters and two brothers.

Visitation was at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, after Friday noon. Funeral service was in the chapel on Saturday, March 1. Interment in the Elmira Cemetery.

HARVEY EDLER PASSED AWAY IN DETROIT
His Remains Brought to Elmira For Burial
There died in Detroit, Mich., on Sunday, Jan. 18, 1920, a former resident of Elmira, in the person of Harvey Edler, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Edler. The cause of his death was anemia. The deceased was 29 years, 9 months and 15 days of age.
Mr. Edler was born on his father's farm, north of Elmira and removed while yet a boy, with his parents to Elmira. He attended public school here and afterwards worked for some years at the Elmira Furniture Co. A number of years ago, he went to Detroit, where he had ever since resided.
Among his companions, he was very popular and his and his sisters expressed in few words his attributes, when they said. He was a good boy.
As will have been noted, his parents predeceased him. His remains were brought to Elmira and laid to rest in Elmira Union Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, from the residence of his sisters, Misses Carrie and Marie Edler. The funeral was private and by request no flowers were sent. Rev. Mr. Brown of Zion Evangelical Church, officiated at the house and cemetery.
To the Misses Edler the sympathy of this community will go out in these hours of their bereavement.

At St. Mary's Hospital, on Thursday, May 12, as a result of a heart attack. Violet Bessie Edler of 214 Queen St. S., Kitchener, aged 82 years.

A member of Zion United Church, 65 Plus and Minus Club, and Uniroyal 25 Year Club.

Miss Edler was born in Elmira, a daughter of the late John Edler and Mary Ann Dippel. Formerly employed in the accounting department of Uniroyal Textile Division for 40 years.

Sister of Marie Edler and Mrs. Ethel Hauch, both of Elmira, and aunt of Marguerite Hauch, Ruth Popplow, Doris Gruhn, Rita Tobin, Evelyn Ruhlman and Robert Hauch.

Predeceased by her cousin, Loretta Weiss, in 1965, and Harvey and Edgar Weiss, and by four sisters and two brothers.

Friends may call at the Gruhn Funeral Home, 178 Queen St. S., Kitchener, until 1 p.m. Sunday, when removal will be made to Zion United Church for funeral and committal service at 2 p.m. with Rev. F. J. Roberts officiating. Interment in Elmira cemetery.
