    MRS. ALFRED MOGK

    Mrs. Alfred Mogk of Floradale died early Tuesday at Likeholm Lodge, St. Jacobs two days before her 74th birthday. She had been ill for five months.

    Born Nov. 7, 1883, in Woolwich, she was a daughter of the late John H. Schaefer and Louise Umbach. She married Alfred Mogk in Elmira in 1905 and with the exception of a few years in Alma and New Dundee, Mrs. Mogk spent her life in Floradale.

    She was a member of the Floradale Evangelical United Brethren Church and vice-president of the Women's Society of World Service. She was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Sewing Circle.

    Surviving are her husband six sisters, Mrs. John Keller and Miss Elizabeth Schaefer, Elmira; Mrs. Edwin Kinsley of Lexington, Mich.; Mrs. William Herchenratter, Kitchener; Mrs. William Hughes, Toronto, and Mrs. Elmer Ogram, Linwood and three brothers, John L. Schaefer, Kitchener and Alvin and Harold Schaefer, Elmira. One son died in infancy. Two brothers and two sisters also predeceased her.

    The body rested at the Dreisinger Funeral Chapel, Elmira. Removal was made at noon Thursday to Floradale Evangelical Church for service at 2:30. Rev. A. M, Schlenker and Rev. J. W. Siebert officiated. Interment will be in the Elmira cemetery.

    Mrs. John Keller, 82, formerly of Elmira, died Monday in Brampton after a lengthy illness. She was the former Helma Anne Schaefer, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Schaefer. She was born in Woolwich Township August 13, 1885. She was a resident of Elmira until August 1966 when she moved to Brampton.

    Mrs. Keller was a member of St. James' Lutheran Church, Elmira.

    Surviving are her husband, two sons, Clinton of Kingston and Kenneth of Brampton; three brothers, Alvin and Harold of Elmira and John of Kitchener; four sisters, Mrs. Edwin (Amelia) Kinsley, of Lexington, Mich., Elizabeth Schaefer and Mrs. Elmer (Esther) Ogram of Elmira, and Mrs. William (Alma) Herchenratter of Kitchener: five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
    The body is at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor in Elmira, where service will be held Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock. Burial will be in Elmira cemetery.

    SCHAEFER, Miss Lizzie -- On Sunday, Feb. 20, 1983, at Elmira Nursing Home, Lizzie Schaefer, in her 96th year.

    Daughter of the late John Schaefer and Louise Umbach. Lizzie was born in North Woolwich and had been resident of Elmira district all her life, the last 12 years at the nursing home. She had been employed at the Elmira Rubber Factory and also at Savage Shoes Limited.

    Dear sister of Harold Schaefer and Mrs. Elmer (Esther) Ogram, both of Elmira. Fondly remembered by a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six sisters and four brothers.

    Friends may call at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira after 7 p.m. today until Wednesday at noon, when removal will be made to Trinity United Church for funeral service at 3 p.m. Interment Elmira Union Cemetery.

    Funeral service was held Friday in Lexington, Michigan, for Mrs. Edwin Kinsley, 78, formerly of Elmira. She died last Tuesday in Lexington after a brief illness. Burial was in Lexington.

    Mrs. Kinsley was born in Elmira, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Schaefer. She was the former Amelia Schaefer.

    Surviving are her husband, two sons, Howard and Ralph, both of Lexington, Mich; three sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Esther) Ogram and Elizabeth, both of Elmira, Mrs. William (Alma) Herchenratter of Kitchener and three brothers, Alvin and Harold of Elmira and John of Kitchener.

    SCHAEFER, Gerald -- Suddenly, as the result of a heart attack, in Hanover, on Saturday, July 3, 1982, Gerald G. Schaefer, aged 57 years, of 272 Eighth Ave., Hanover. Mr. Schaefer was employed at Knechtel Furniture, Hanover and formerly worked at Sutherland-Schultz Limited, Kitchener. He was a veteran of the Second World War, served with the Royal Canadian Air Force in England. Survived by his wife, the former Wilma Cressman; four sons, Ronald of Ottawa, David of Waterloo, Richard of Surrey, B.C. and Dale of Kitchener; two daughters, Cathy and Lori, both of Waterloo; brother of Marjorie (Mrs. Arthur Beilstein) of Kitchener, Dorothy (Mrs. Larry Gummow) of Waterloo, Mildred (Mrs. William Rusch) of Courtney B.C., Carol (Mrs. Larry Fischer) of Brandon, Man. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Jennifer and Ryan Schefer. Predeceased by his parents, George Schaefer and the former Frieda Nihls. Mr. Schaefer's family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, Funeral and committal services will be held in the chapel, Tuesday at 3 p.m., with Rev Grant MacDonald officiating. Following cremation interment will be made in Memory Gardens.

    SCHAEFER, Douglas H. Went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at the K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital at the age of 76 years. Doug Schaefer of Elmira is the beloved husband of Elaine (nee Jarvis). Loved father of John and his wife Kathy of Elmira, Yvonne deBoer and her husband Allen of Hanover, and Bob and his wife Louisa of Baden. Loving grandfather of Michael (Samantha) deBoer, Jacob deBoer, Madison Schaefer, Seth deBoer, Karley Schaefer and Kai Schaefer. Also lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Shirley Witten. He was pre- deceased by his parents Harold and Delphine Schaefer and one brother Murray. Douglas was a faithful member of the Alma Bible Church. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home , Elmira, on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at Woodside Bible Chapel, Elmira, on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 2 p.m. Cremation will follow.     Murray Charles Schaefer, 11, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schaefer of Elmira, died early Saturday at K-W Hospital.

    He was born and lived in Elmira all his life. He was a member of the Elmira Musical Society Boys' Band since its organization two years ago.

    His mother is the former Delphine Bierwagen.

    Surviving in addition to his parents are a brother, Douglas, at home, and grandparents, Mrs. John Schaefer, Elmira; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bierwagen, Bridgeport.

    The services were held Tuesday at 2 pm at Zion Evangelical United Brethren Church, Elmira, with burial in Elmira Cemetery. Rev. C.B. Heckendorn officiated.

    The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until Tuesday at 1 pm, when removal was made to the church.
