    ECKSTEIN, Doreen Passed away peacefully at Nithview Community on Saturday, January 7, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Doreen was born 83 years ago in Stayner, a daughter of the late Ernest Bell and former Jennie Draper. Loving wife of Waldron Eckstein who she married August 10, 1957. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Wayne and Lynda Eckstein of New Hamburg, Karen and Brad Otterbein of New Dundee, Valerie and Walter Kropf of Tavistock and Mark Eckstein of Waterloo. Loving grandmother of Jill and Chad Eidt, Luke Eckstein, Anita and Scott Cressman, Laura and Mike Snyder, Greg Otterbein, Travis and Niki Kropf, Melissa and Phillip Hulcoop, and Adam and Christina Kropf. Great-grandmother of Alex and Tanner Eidt, Anna and Nadya Cressman, Oliver and Emerson Kropf, and Noah, Jacob and Kaylea Kropf. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Cecil and Sylvia Bell of Kitchener, Eldon and Audrey Bell of Stayner, Joyce and Morris Ackerman of Barrie, Shirley Poll and June Rieck, both of New Dundee, Ann Parker and Marilyn Schwartzentruber, both of New Hamburg. Doreen was predeceased by a sister Gladys and Wilfred Atkinson and by brothers-in-law Elmer Poll, Roy Parker, Bob Rieck and Del Swartzentruber. Doreen and Waldron partnered in business as a couple all their lives, from supporting each other on the farm, right through to Wal-Dor Industries, until her health prevented her from continuing as secretary in 2003. Doreen had a gift of organization and attention to detail which was evident in her years of service in many capacities in both Bethel and Tavistock Missionary Church. Doreen treasured her family and cherished the times with them, from children, to grandchildren to great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Bethel Missionary Church, 1531 Bridge Street, New Dundee on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Spring interment in Union Cemetery, New Dundee. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Aimee McMillan and the support team at Nithview Community for their compassionate care in these last few weeks. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Evergreen Christian Ministries, Bethel Women's Ministries, or Emmanuel Bible College would be appreciated by the family.
