    MRS. JOSEPH METZGER

    Mrs. Joseph H. Metzger, 58, of RR 1, St. Jacobs, died Saturday at ber home after a brief illness. She was the former Katie Martin, a daughter of Mrs. Peter G. Martin, RR 4, Elmira, and the late Mr. Martin. She was born Dec. 11, 1906 in Woolwich Township and was a member of St. Jacob's Mennonite Church.

    Surviving, besides her husband and her mother, are two sons, Lorne of RR1, Waterloo, and Tilman of RR 1, St. Jacobs; three daughters, Mrs. Harry (Minerva) B. Martin and Mra. Orton (Elvina) Gingrich, both of Elmira, and Elleen, RR 1, R. Jacobs; three sisters, Mrs. Amos Brubacher and Mrs. Carl Ziegler, both of Hawkesville, and Mrs. Free- man Martin of RR 4, Elmira: and five grandchildren.

    The body rested at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elraira, until Tuesday noon, then at the St. Jacobs Mennonite Church for the funeral at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Glenn Brubacher officiated and burial followed in St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery.

    MARTIN, Minerva (Mrs. Harvey B.) - Peacefully, on Sunday, Sept. 6, 1998, at her home, Minerva (Metzger) Martin, in her 68th year, of RR 1, Elmira.

    Beloved wife of Harvey B. Martin; loving mother of Ruth and Allan Misener of Nova Scotia, Murray and Joyce of Elmira, James and Susan of Floradale, Paul and Julie of Floradale. Fondly remembered by her six grand- sons, Jeremy Misener, Travis and Corey Martin, Matthew, Thomas and Luke Martin; dear daughter of Joseph Metzger of Elmira and the late Katie (Martin) Metzger; sister of Lorne and Florence Metzger of Elmira; Tilman and Karen Metzger of St. Clements, Elvina and Orton Gingrich of Elmira, Eileen and Phares Martin of Listowel. Predeceased by her mother. Katie; her step-mother, Amanda Bowman. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, today (Wednesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A private family committal service will be held in the Elmira Mennonite Cemetery on Thursday morning. A public memorial service for family and friends will be held on Thursday at the Elmira Mennonite Church at 2 p.m. with Pas tor Dale Bauman and Pastor Ruth Anne Laverty officiating.

    In her memory, donations to Elmira Mennonite Church Capital Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society would be ap preciated as expressions of sympathy.

    GINGRICH, Elvina (Mrs. Orton) - Peacefully went to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 15, 2004 at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital. Elvina (Metzger) Gingrich, age 70 years, of Elmira. Beloved wife of Orton Gingrich for 47 years. Dear mother of Kathy and Sam Coffman of Clarkston, Washington and Ken and Vicki Gingrich of Elmira. Sister of Lorne and Florence Metzger of Elmira, Tilman and Karen Metzger of St. Clements, Eileen and Phares Martin of Listowel and sister-in-law of Harvey Martin of Elmira. Predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Katie (Martin) Metzger; her step-mother, Amanda (Bowman) Metzger; her sister, Minerva Martin and two sisters and one brother in infancy. Elvina was an employee of Stedman's in Elmira for over 22 years. The family will receive their friends and relatives at The Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Tuesday (today) from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At noon on Thursday transfer will be made to the Hawkesville Mennonite Church for funeral service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Perry Bartel officiating followed by interment in Hawkesville Cemetery. In her memory, donations to Canadian Arthritis Society or Mennonite Central Committee would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.
