    Hawkesville Youth Dies After Fall

    Funeral service was held Wednesday for Leonard Frey, 21, of Hawkesville, who was fatally injured in a fall from a ladder June 30.

    The Frey youth died at Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital Sunday as the result of head injuries, he did not regain consciousness.

    He was installing a silo attachment on the farm of Jacob Wiens, RR 1, St. Clements, when the accident occurred. The victim was employed by Edgar S. Martin Ltd., a Hawkesville implement firm, and was installing a beam as part of a silo unloader when he fell.

    A brother, Melvin Frey of Hawkesville, was working on the same project but did not witness the accident.

    Mr. Frey had been employed by the Martin firm for about a year.

    The service was held at the home of Melvin Frey, Hawkesville, and a further service followed at Martin's Meeting House. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery. The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, prior to the funeral service,

    Mr. Frey was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel Frey, of St. Jacobs. He attended Martin Mennonite Church, RR 1, Waterloo.

    Surviving besides his parents and his brother, Melvin, are five other brothers, Edwin of RR 2, Waterloo, Abner and Edgar of Wallenstein, and Laverne and Willard at home and by four sisters, Mrs. Eugene (Viola) Martin, RR 1, Britton, Mrs. Mervin (Ada) Lichty, and Mrs. Menno (Florence) Wideman, both of RR 1, Ariss, and Mrs. Earl (Erma) Wideman of St. Jacobs.
