    Mrs Adam Bauer: The death occurred this morning of Mrs. Adam Bauer, 22 Pinke Street, following a lengthy illness. Deceased was born in Grey County, October 29,1860 and had resided in Kitchener for the past 12 years. Besides the sorrowing husband, six children survive. They are Mrs. A.A. Meadows of Toronto,Mrs Wm. Duncan of Toronto, Mrs. Milton Pilke of Preston,Nelson Bauer of Denver Col. and Roy and Gordon at home. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2: 30 o'clock to Mount Hope Cemetery. Deceased was a member of Zion Evangelical church.

    Notes:

    Roy C. Bauer founder and former owner of several companies including the one that makes the world famous Bauer skates died Saturday at Heritage House in St Jacobs. He was 93. Bauer who had Alzhiemers disease, founded the Bauer Shoe Company, and Canadian Skate Manufacturing Company on Victoria Street North in Kitchener and the Bauer Canadian Skate Company Inc. in Tonawanda N.Y. American distributor of Bauer's Canadian products. His companies made a wide range of sports wear including roller skates, football, soccer, baseball and bowling shoes. He remained president of all four Bauer Companies until he sold them to Greb Shoes in 1965.

    Greb sold to Warrington Inc in 1974. The operating company for Warrington today is Canstar Sports Group Incon Victoria Street North. The company continues to make skates as well as hockey shoulder and pant protection. Bauer's sons Gerald and Donald continued to work for the company after their father sold it to Greb. Gerald was in charge of Skate Manufacturing until 1969 and Donald was responsible for Bauer sales until his retirement seven years ago.

    After selling the companies the Senior Bauer and his wife Louise moved to Bermuda where they remained until 1983 when they returned to Kitchener. After a year at their Muskoka cottage, the Bauers moved to Meadowcroft Place in Kitchener where Mrs. Bauer Died in April 1985.

    In addition to his two sons, Bauer is survived by his three daughters Ruth Sidney of Kalamazoo Michigan, Joan Brennan of Ventura California and Dorothey Hannah of Santa Barbara California. 21 Grandchildren and 22 Great grandchildren.

    Roy C. Bauer at Heritage House St Jacobs on Saturday May 13,1989 age 93 years. Mr. Bauer was founder and President of Bauer Skate Company, Canadian Skate Manufacturing Company, and Bauer Canadian Skate Inc. He was also the President of Western Shoe Company and had remained President of all four companies until they were sold to Greb Industries in 1985.

    Predeceased by his wife the former Louise Raines, April 4, 1985; two daughters Glenadine and Marguerite; two brothers Nelson and Gordon, four sisters Loucinda, Lyndia, Christina and Elsie. His parents were Mary and Adam Bauer.

    Father of Gerald of Waterloo, Donald Of Kitchener,Ruth of Kalamazoo Michigan, Joan of Ventura California, and Dorothy of Santa Barbara California. 21 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

    Funeral service and committal service in the Chapel of the Edward R Good funeral Home Rev Orville Thamer and Rev Clayton Wilhelm officiating. Internment Woodlawn Cemetery Kitchener.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Mary's General Hospital, K-W Hospital, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated through the Edward R. Good Funeral Home 171 King St. S. Waterloo. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at Calvary United Church, 350 Park St. Kitchener on Thursday Dec 11, 1986 at 3: 30 p.m. Private interment.

    GERALD GEORGE BAUER 1922 - 2009 Passed away peacefully at Sunnyside Home, Kitchener, on Thursday, March 19, 2009, at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband of nearly 60 years to Muriel (nee Moyer). Cherished father of the late, Karen McAllister and her husband Ross, Gayle Martin and her husband Doug, Philip Bauer and his wife Helga, and Laurie Venton and her husband Mark. Sadly missed by his siblings, Joan Brennan, Donald Bauer and his wife Janet, Ruth Sidney and her husband George, and Dorothy Hannah; 12 grandchildren and their spouses and three great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, Roy and Louise Bauer (nee Raines); sisters, Marguerite Boyes and Glenadine Koby and brother-in-law, Bill Hannah. Gerry was a member of the R.C.A.F. and served his country overseas in the Second World War. He also managed Bauer Skate of Kitchener for 25 years and was actively involved in ministry at First Baptist Church, Waterloo. Friends are invited to share their memories of Gerry with his family during a visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Monday, March 23, 2009, (today) from 6-9 p.m. The service to celebrate Gerry's life and faith will be held at First Baptist Church, 306 Erb Street West, Waterloo, on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 11 a.m. with reception to follow at the church. Interment at Memory Gardens, Breslau.     Passed away peacefully at Sunnyside Long Term Care Centre, Kitchener, on Thursday, aged 86 years.

    Survived by his wife Muriel, of nearly 60 years, his son-in-law, Ross McAllister (late Karen), his daughter Gayle Martin (Doug), his son Philip (Helga), and his daughter, Laurie Venton (Mark). Also survived by his siblings, Joan Brennan, Donald Bauer (Janet), Ruth Sidney (George), and Dorothy Hannah, 12 grandchildren and their spouses and 3 great-grandchildren.

    Predeceased by his daughter Karen (Ross McAllister), his parents Roy and Louise Bauer (nee Raines), his sisters Marguerite Boyes and Glenadine Koby, and brother-in-law Bill Hannah.

    Gerry was a member of the R.C.A.F. and served his country overseas in the Second World War. He also managed Bauer Skate of Kitchener for 25 years and was actively involved in ministry at First Baptist Church, Waterloo.
