    Mrs. Charles A. Hoy

    Elizabeth Priscilla Hoy, wife of Charles A. Hoy, Ahrens street, Kitchener, passed away on Tuesday at her home after a lingering illness. Mrs. Hoy, who was born in England and migrated to this country 27 years ago, was in her 64th year. She attended St. John's Anglican Church. Surviving are her husband and seven sons, William, Charles, John, Harry, Laurence, George and Arthur, all of Kitchener; twenty-two grandchildren and one great grandchild. Five brothers, George Aylward, Guelph, Harry Aylward, Hamilton, David Aylward, Toronto, Joseph Aylward, London, Eng, and Arthur Aylward of Kitchener, and two sisters, Mrs. S. Gannon, London, Eng., and Mrs. S. Baetz, Ganonoque, also survive. The funeral was held this (Thursday) morning from the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home to Woodland Cemetery for interment. Rev. J. N. H. Mille officiated.

Wife of George Kropf, who predeceased her March 7 of this year; mother of Esther (Mrs. Kenneth Gawthorn), Gladys (Mrs. Harry Klie), Albert, Robert, Lawrence and Wayne Kropf, all of Kitchener, Dianne (Mrs. John Hause) and Arthur Kropf of Waterloo and George of Tiverton; sister of William Hoy of Waterloo and Harry Hoy of Hensall; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandson, Jay Gawthorn also survive. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener after 7 p.m. tonight. Funeral and committal service in the chapel Monday at 4 p.m. with Rev. F. W. Zinck officiating. Predeceased by his parents John and Esther Hoy (nee Bellamy); and by brothers Eddie and Jack. Cremation has taken place.     Kropf, George C. W. - Passed away peacefully, on Saturday, Jan. 8, 1994, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, after a wonderful and special Christmas at home, George Charles William Kropf, of Kitchener. George was born in Kitchener 70 years ago as the son of the late George and Elizabeth Kropf. He will be sadly missed by his many family members and friends. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jane (nee Klie); daughter, Joann Kropf-Hedley and her husband Kevin (Hedge) of Cobourg, Ont. and son, George Jr. of Thunder Bay, Ont. He will also be dearly missed by his only granddaughter, Cuyler Dawn Hedley. Dear brother of Esther and her husband Ken Gawthorn, Gladys Klie, Ab and his wife Ruth, Art and his wife Joan, Bob and his wife Ann, Lawrence and his wife Gloria, Wayne and his wife Gail and Dianne and her husband Jack Hause, all of Kitchener. Also many nieces and nephews. George was an active member in the Canadian Provost Corps, Argyle & Sutherland Highlanders of Canada, Royal Canadian Legion, Waterloo Rod & Gun Club, Bruce Lodge Masonic Temple and the Mocha Shrine Temple, London. He served in the Canadian Army from 1940 until his retirement in 1968 at which time he was employed with Ontario Hydro until he retired in 1988. After this time, he worked for the City of Kitchener part time until early 1983. At George's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service in the funeral home. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 1994 at 2 p.m. at Bridgeport United Church, 40 Bridge St. W., Kitchener, Ont. N2K 1K7.     Passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Algonquin Grace Hospice, Huntsville, at the age of 88. Beloved husband of the late Ruth (nee Hoffmeyer) (2009). Loving father of David (Karen) Kropf, Kristine (Allan) Meyer and Lorilee Darwen. Cherished grandfather of Joshua Darwen. He will be fondly remembered by his dear friend Gloria Moss. Brother of Robert, Wayne (Gail) and Diane Hause and brother-in-law of Gloria Kropf and Ken Gawthorne. Predeceased by his grandson Michael Darwen, parents, George and Sarah Kropf, siblings Esther Gawthorne, George Kropf, Lawrence Kropf, Gladys Klie and Arthur Kropf and brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack Hause, Harry Klie, Joan Kropf, Anne Kropf, and June Kropf. He was a faithful member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Kitchener and St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Magnetawan. Ab volunteered for many years at Freeport Hospital, where he was the President of Volunteers in 2002. He retired February 1992 from Weston's Bakery.     Passed away peacefully at A.R. Goudie Eventide Home on Sunday, April 3, 2011, surrounded by his loving family to be reunited with his dear wife Joan who predeceased him in 2004. Survived by his daughters Linda (Brian) of Waterloo, Teri of Atlanta, Debbie (Peter) of Waterloo, and son Mike (Lisa) of Waterloo. Grandchildren Lindsay and Bradley Griffin, David, Vania and Kristina Gottschalk, Tara, Adam, Ashley, Kyle Kropf, Jamie and Joel Dowsett, and great-grandson Cooper. Also survived by his sisters Dianne Hause and Gladys Klie, brothers Wayne (Jackie) Kropf, Albert Kropf, Bob (Anne) Kropf. Sisters-in-law June Kropf, Gloria Kropf, Peggy (Russ) Elmore, brothers-in-law Ken Gawthorn, and William Sommers, sister-in-law Jeannette Sommers along with many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Esther Gawthorn, brothers, Lawrence Kropf, George Kropf, brothers-in- law Jack Hause, Harry Klie, Don Kehn and Jim Sommers, sisters-in- law Ruth Kropf, Theresa Sommers, and Ethel Kehn. Art worked for Electrohome and then Deilcraft for over 40 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed many winters in Florida with Joan before her passing and continued to enjoy the life they had created at their home beside the river in Fergus until moving to Waterloo to live with his son and daughter-in-law for a number of years before moving to A.R. Goudie. The family would like to express their most heartfelt thanks to the staff of A.R. Goudie (especially Judy/ Tricia) for the loving care and compassion they have shown Dad in his time with them. They truly are angels here on earth! Art's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 519-749-8467.     With great sorrow, Wayne's family announces his passing on January 12, 2016 in his 80th year at Freeport Seniors' Specialized Mental Health Unit after a challenging ordeal with dementia. Beloved Husband and Best Friend of Gail for 53 years. Father of much loved Shane and Jason, loving Grandfather of Ashley Nyal. Survived by sister Dianne Hause, sister-in-law Gloria Kropf, brothers-in-law Nick Colibaba and Ken Gawthorn, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents George and Elizabeth; siblings Esther, Gladys, George, Albert, Arthur, Robert and Lawrence.
