Dettweiler, Lucinda, daughter of Ephraim and Leah Weber, was born in Elmira, Ont., Dec. 17, 1890; died at Fairview Mennonite home, Cambridge (Preston), Apr. 10, 1983; aged 92 y. On Dec. 16, 1925, she was married to Norman Dettweiler, who survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters (Erma-Mrs. Orlan G. Martin and Beatrice-Mrs. Ervin L. Martin), one son (Howard), 7 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She was a member of Wanner Mennonite Church, where funeral services were held on Apr. 12, in charge of Paul Martin and Horace Cressman; interment in Breslau Mennonite Cemetery.1a

MARTIN, Beatrice (nee Dettweiler) In her 80th year, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at Chateau Gardens, Elmira. Devoted wife of Ervin L. Martin for 55 years. Loving mother of Lois Pryse (Michael), Phyllis Martin-Neufeld (Keith), Linda Martin, Elizabeth MacPherson (Gordon) and Christy Hoffman (Craig). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Jessica (Rob), Kathleen (Scott), Heather, Emily, Nicole, Janelle, Alex, Adam, Blake and Natasha. Beatrice will also be missed by her sister, Erma Martin, and sisters-in-law, Velina and Adeline Martin, as well as many nieces and nephews. Pre- deceased by her parents, Lucinda and Norman Dettweiler, and brother, Howard. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Floradale Mennonite Church, 22 Florapine Rd., on Thursday, January 21, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate Beatrice's life and faith will be held at Floradale Mennonite Church on Friday, January 22, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Fred Redekop officiating. The casket will remain open at the church until 1: 45 p.m. Interment in Floradale Mennonite Cemetery. In Beatrice's memory, donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee or Mennonite Disaster Service and may be arranged through Dreisinger Funeral Home , Elmira, 519-669-2207.
