EBY, Hilda (Hildagarde) - Passed away at Chateau Gardens Nursing Home, Elmira, on Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at the age of 101. Hilda was a lifetime member of Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Queen St., Kitchener. Hilda and her husband Nelson grew and sold gladioli and mums from the patio of their Heiman Street home in Kitchener for over 40 years. Predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Nelson Eby, who passed away November 11, 2000. Dear mother of John and his wife Gail of Elmira; grandmother of Melina of Vancouver, Miranda McLean (Darren) of Guelph and Bradley Nichols of Toronto. Survived by her sister, Othelia of Kitchener; her sister-in-law, Elvera of Toronto; brother-in-law, Herbert Eby and his wife Norma of Kitchener and sister-in-law, Miriam Knutson of Kitchener. Predeceased also by her parents, William Shantz and the former Dorothea Roepke; brothers, Earl and Leonard and sisters, Dorothy Ernst and Alvina Kolpin. Hilda's family will receive friends and relatives at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home , 621 King St. W., Kitchener on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The complete funeral service will be held at Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 137 Queen St. S., Kitchener on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 2 p.m. Interment at Memory Gardens, Breslau. Donations to Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Kitchener or to Chateau Gardens Nursing Home Ladies Auxiliary.
