CARSON MENNO MOYER 1926 - 2008 Passed away, suddenly at his home on February 14, 2008 at the age of 81 years. Cherished husband of Ellen Moyer (nee Martin). Beloved father of Keith Moyer and his wife Bev Klassen, John Moyer and his wife Kathleen Cleland Moyer, Susan Moyer, and Becky Huber and her husband Roland. Loving grandfather of Jenna, Dana, Luke, Jonathan, Joel, Katrina, Talina, Stephanie, Dylan and Justin. Carson is survived by his brother, David Moyer and his wife Yvonne; his sister, Joan Moyer; his brother, Jim Moyer and his wife Beth and his sister-in-law, Eleanor Moyer. Sadly missed by Ellen's family, Florence Wideman, Viola and George Wallace, Lloyd Martin, Laura and Milo Shantz and Abner and Shirley Martin, as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Menno and Maggie Moyer (nee Snyder) and his brother, Blake Moyer. Carson was born in Vineland, Ont. in 1926. Much of his life was devoted to the work of the church, as a missionary in Ghana, a buyer and consultant for the Christian education department at Provident Bookstore, and a member of the Mennonite Historical Society. Carson was also a fruit grower and a friendly face at the Farmer's Market to many people in his semi-retirement. He also enjoyed wood working, travelling with his wife and time spent with his grandchildren and church friends. Friends are invited to share their memories of Carson with his family at Mannheim Mennonite Church, 1521 Bleams Road in Mannheim on Sunday, February 17, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday, February 18, 2008 from 1-1: 45 p.m. followed by the funeral service to celebrate Carson's life and faith at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ruth Anne Laverty officiating. Interment will follow in the Mannheim Mennonite Church Cemetery, Mannheim. Following the committal service, friends are invited to join the family back in the Church for refreshments and a time to visit.
