    Aaron E. Shantz, "was born April 7th, 1853. On March 8th, 1874, he was married to Hannah Snyder who was born January 29th, 1857. They reside a little south of Berlin where he is engaged in farming. Their family consisted of seven children".

    HANTZ, Willard G. - Born October 4, 1916 passed away, peacefully of natural causes, on June 7, 2005. For many years Willard was the proprietor of Willard's Lunch, a restaurant once located near the Kitchener Farmer's Market. Subsequently, Willard worked for Dare Cookies, from which job he retired at the age of 68. Willard is predeceased by parents, Alvin and Florence (nee Duncan); and brothers, Nelson, Floyd and Howard Shantz, all of Kitchener. Willard is survived by his sister Alice Shantz, also of Kitchener; his beloved wife Catherine (nee Schwartz); and son Bryan Shantz of Kitchener, son Dr. Willard E. Shantz of Barrie; and grandchildren, Nicole and Jeremy, both of Toronto. Special thanks to the staff of The Westmount for their exceptional care of Willard, and their thoughtful consideration of his family. The family will receive friends at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King Street,W, Kitchener, on Thursday (today) from 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, 268 East Avenue, on Friday at 2 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be recited at the funeral home Thursday (tonight) at 8:45pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the charity of your choice.

Survived by son David Fromer and wife Elizabeth and daughter Martha and husband Harold Schwartzenberg; two step-sons, Tom and Joe Bullas; three granddaughters, Liza, Sarah and Robin; and three great-grand-children Noah, Samson and Ever Grace. Predeceased by husbands, Roy Fromer and Humphrey Bullas; two brothers, Walter and Maurice Shantz and parents, Laura Hood and Addison Shantz. Cremation has taken place. Predeceased by his brother, Walter. Maurice was a longtime employee of John Forsyth Company and, in his retired years, he was a shuttle driver for Weiland Ford. In his earlier years, he was known as a good athlete. Maurice was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, and also a session, board and choir member. Cremation has taken place.     Went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 4, 2011, at the age of 91.
    Predeceased by her husband Lloyd K. Sider, her parents William and Olive (Shantz) Moyer, a brother William Glenn, sister Marjorie Funk, and daughter Miriam Ruth Sider.

    Survived by sister Doris Bolender, sister-in-law Jean Moyer, sons John William (Anna), Elgin Robert (Betty), seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

    As the daughter of a pastor and then as a pastor's wife, Ruby lived and served in various communities throughout Southern Ontario.
    Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 from 12 noon to 12:45 p.m., followed by the service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. A reception will immediately follow the service in the funeral home's Fireside Reception Room. Interment at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.

    BOLENDER, Doris (Moyer) Born June 17, 1922 in Kitchener, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2011. Third daughter of William and Olive Moyer, she married Gordon Bolender in 1945 and served alongside Gordon in Nigeria from 1946-1960 with United Missionary Society (forerunner of EMCC World Partners). Predeceased by her husband in 2002, her parents, two sisters Marjorie Funk and Ruby Sider and brother Bill Moyer. Survived by Mark and Karen Bolender of Medicine Hat, David and Jackie Bolender of Windsor, Merla Bolender of Edmonton, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A faithful member of Bethany EMC, Kitchener for many years and latterly of Country Hills EMC, Kitchener, she loved her Lord and her family. Mrs. Bolender's family will receive friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 6: 30 until 8: 30 p.m. A private family interment will take place Monday, November 7, 2011 at Woodland Cemetery. Friends are invited to a memorial service to celebrate her life and faith in the chapel of the funeral home on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home.     Passed away peacefully in his sleep after a short illness on June 6, 2014, in his 69th year. Predeceased by his father Willard G., and survived by his mother, Catherine M. (nee Schwartz) and his brother Bryan, his wife Lorraine (nee Wiebe) and his much loved children Nicole (and husband Julien Lachance) and Jeremy (and wife Christine, nee Valitutti). Willard will be much missed by many loving cousins, and a great number of special friends and acquaintances. As per his wishes, there will be no funeral. Later in the summer, there will be a memorial bench dedicated to Willard at Metro Toronto Zoo. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating blood and/or donating to the charity of your choice.
