    Isaac E. Weber," the youngest son of Isaac and Elizabeth (Eby Weber, was born January 3rd, 1866. On October 11th, 1882, he was married to Amelia Alles who was born July 8th, 1864. On March 4th, 1885, they moved on the farm now possessed by Elias Bingeman, two miles east of Bridgeport. On November 26th, of the same year (1885) they purchased the "Owen Oberholtzer Farm" at Bloomingdale where they have since resided. A few years ago he also purchased the old "Rudolph Detweiler Farm," right across the road from his farm. They have a family of four children"

    Musselman. - Hannah, only child of Peter and Veronica (Weber) Good, was born Dec. 21, 1874; died Mar. 25, 1919; aged 44 y. 3 m. 4 d. She lived in matrimony with Geo. L. Musselman, which union was blessed with four sons and two daughters. Two sons preceded her to the spirit world. She joined the Mennonite Church in early youth and lived a quiet, peaceable, and consistent Christian life to the end. She leaves a sorrowing husband, two sons, two daughters, an aged mother and many relatives and friends. It is a great loss to the family, and also to the church. She was resigned to the Lord's will, and we look forward to a happy reunion where sorrow and sighing will be no more. Funeral services Mar. 28 conducted by Abr. Gingrich and Moses Brubacher at the Martin meeting house, buried in adjoining cemetery.

    WALLENSTEIN - Enoch Horst, 73, former Millbank farmer, died today at his home in Wallenstein. Born in Woolwich township, he had come to Wallenstein only about two months ago. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eli Horst. His wife, the former Eliza Martin died 35 years ago.

    Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Aaron (Levina) Lichty. Crosshill and Anna, Lydia Ann and Louise at home; five sons, Elam of Millbank; Enoch of Linwood; Isaiah and Elias at home and Henry of Newton; one brother, Eli of Alma; one sister, Sarah Horst of near Waterloo.
    The body is at the Dreisinger funeral parlor pending funeral arrangements.

    Musselman.-Amasa, son of Geo. L. and Hannah (Good) Musselman of Waterloo, Ont., was born Jan. 21, 1897; died Aug. 23, 1914; aged 17 y. 7 m. 2 d. On the morning of his death he arose apparently in his usual health, and was helping at the morning work, getting things ready to go to Sunday school and church services, when he was suddenly stricken down with paralysis of the brain. He was the oldest child in the family, and was a great help to his parents, taking an active interest in their work and was always very obedient and industrious. Though morally a very good child, he felt the need of a Savior, and during the meetings held last November by Bro. Amos Geigley, he confessed Christ and joined the Church, and lived an exemplary life to the end. He attended all the services regularly and always listened intently to what was being taught, and when requested to do something in the Y. P. B. Meetings he did the work assigned to him in a meek and quiet way. He will be greatly missed in the services by the minister, Sunday school workers, and his young associates, but most of all will he be missed by his parents and aged grandparents and 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Though we all feel the loss of one we dearly loved, we are comforting ourselves with the thought that Jesus loved him more and has taken him to Himself to be forever free from the dangers and cares of earth. Services and burial at Martin's M. H. near Waterloo, Ont., on Wednesday, the 26th, by the brethren, E. S. Bauman, and Abr. Gingerich. This is the third sudden death in this community within a few months; one an aged pilgrim, one in middle life, and this young brother. Surely the Lord is calling to all to prepare for heaven before we pass into an endless eternity, where no preparation can be made.

On May 9, 1925, he was married to Gladys Burkhart, who survives. Also surviving are a son (Marshall, at home), a daughter (Erla-Mrs. Mervin Bauman, St. Jacobs), a brother (George, Floradale, Ont.), 2 sisters (Salome-Mrs. Angus Martin, New Hamburg, Ont., and Mrs. Edna Francis, Kitchener), and one grandchild. The family will receive friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 1-2: 45 pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday at 3 p.m. followed by a reception at the funeral home. Interment will be in First Mennonite Cemetery.     HURST, Noah 'Bud' June 30 1926- April 5 2010 Noah was born to an Old Order Mennonite farm family, one of nine children, in Waterloo County (one sister, Mary Ann, still lives in Elmira). Bud enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: his family, his home, trimming the hedge, mowing the lawn, feeding the birds, sitting in his chair reading the paper with the ball game on the radio; yet, never too busy to welcome whomever dropped by the house. Bud and his wife, Evelyn Reid Hurst (d. April 2006) raised seven children: Randall (Sharon), Mike (Debbie), Becky Bolton, (Rob), Lisa Archer (Keith), Rod (Lisa), Cathy Rankine (Gary), Jody Lewis (Sheldon). Twenty grandchildren enriched his life: Michael & Karis Hurst, Jason (Melissa) Olson, Cody & Brittany Hurst, Brandon & Jamie Battersby, Justin (Alison), Caitlin, Ben, Will, Isaiah Archer, Andrew & Devin Hurst, Melissa Juhasz (Aron), Joel & Josh Rankine, Noah, Isaac & Sarah Lewis. He was proud to be a 'great' grandfather to: Noah Olson, Luke & Zach Juhasz and looked forward to more children being born and more weddings this year. He loved his many nieces and nephews. Noah felt the call of duty and enlisted to serve in WWII. He said the enemy surrendered when they heard Bud Hurst enlisted. After the war, he met Evelyn in Kitchener and they were drawn to Windsor by the prospect of a good paying job at Ford Motor Co. They bought their first home in Remington Park and Bud died there, surrounded by the love of his family. Bud was an avid volunteer in the early years in Remington Park, helping to organize baseball leagues, the building of The Booster Pool, and making a rink in his back yard where generations of local kids came to play hockey and feed on Bud's famous burgers. A long time employee of Union Gas, many Windsorites remember Bud as their meter reader. Employee evaluations state he was 'the best worker.' For many years, he worked a second job doing janitorial work. More recently, he got much enjoyment riding his bike, sometimes with a broom and dustpan or clippers in tow to do his civic duty, tidying up the park. Bud was comfortable with who he was. He was content and grateful for his life. He was known to say, "I sure am rich. I sure do have a good family. I sure have had a good life."     Biographical sketch: Mary Ann Horst was born in 1931 on a farm near Hawkesville, Ontario and died in Elmira in 2014. She was the youngest of nine children of Eli and Malinda (Sittler) Horst. During her childhood, the family moved several times to different farms in the area, and lived briefly in the village of Floradale. The Horsts were Old Order Mennonites, but none of the children remained with this group. Mary Ann was baptized at Erb Street Mennonite Church in 1948, and became a member of the Mennonite Conference of Ontario mission church at Parker (later Berea Mennonite Church).

    Mary Ann attended Rockway Mennonite School as an adult, earning her high school diploma in 1957. An avid student of history and genealogy, she began writing poems and articles for Mennonite publications. Published in 1970, her first book, My Old Order Mennonite Heritage, became a bestseller. She operated the Pennsylvania Dutch Craft Shop, a gift and book shop with a store at 678 King Street West and a booth at the Kitchener Farmers Market, beginning in the 1960s. Mary Ann lived with sisters Sarah and Susannah in a home at 300 Park Street in Kitchener that was on land previously owned by her great-great-grandfather Abraham Weber. Sarah worked at the Kitchener-Waterloo hospital and became an R.N.A. While in Kitchener, the sisters attended First Mennonite Church.

    Mary Ann Horst - July 12, 1931 - July 30, 2014

    Mary Ann Horst passed away peacefully at Martin's Rest Home, Elmira, on July 30, 2014. Mary Ann's Christian faith sustained her in the death of her parents, Eli and Malinda (Sittler) Horst, and all her brothers and sisters, Ismael, David (Perseda), Urias, Susanna, Salinda (Gordon Ariss), Sarah, Noah (Evelyn), and Eli (Helen). Mary Ann will be fondly remembered by nieces and nephews living throughout Southern Ontario and Western Canada. As an adult, Mary Ann returned to school to obtain her secondary education. Mary Ann valued her heritage and had a keen interest in history and genealogy. She was author of a number of books related to Waterloo County Mennonites. For many years she operated a Pennsylvania Dutch gift, craft, and book shop on King Street, and was a vendor at the Kitchener Farmers Market. In 1993 Mary Ann was recognized as a Woman of the Year with an award in the Arts/History/Literature category. Mary Ann was a long-time resident of K-W and was a member of First Mennonite Church in Kitchener. More recently she moved to Elmira and joined the Elmira Mennonite Church. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, followed by a reception at the funeral home where the family will receive friends. Interment will be in First Mennonite Cemetery, Kitchener, prior to the funeral service. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee, or a charity of your choice. The family wishes to express appreciation to Lydian Martin and her staff at Martin's Rest Home for their kind and compassionate care for the past four years.
