    Mrs. Lewis Caskenette

    PRESTON—Mrs. Lewis Caskenette, 75, of 709 South St., died at her residence yesterday after a lengthy illness. Born near Formosa, she was the former Margaret Mosack. She moved to Preston 42 years ago. She attended St. Clement's RC Church and was a member of the Catholic Women's League and the Altar Society. Surviving are her husband, whom she married in 1917; three sons, Harry, St. Catharines; Walter and Jerome, Preston; two daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Lorraine) Andrews, Niagara-on-the-Lake: Mrs. Peter (Leona) Chomits, Preston; two brothers, John and Ambrose, both of Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Annie Flannigan, London. Twelve grandchildren also survive. The body is at the Maurice J. O'Brien Funeral Home. Requiem mass will be said at St. Clement's RC Church Wednesday at 9: 30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Clement's Church Cemetery. Rev. P. J. Meyer and Rev. F. J. Hawkins will officiate.

    PRESTON—Mrs. Elizabeth Caskenette, 59, died at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, early today following a two-year illness. A resident of Preston most of her life, she resided at 529 Duke street. Her husband, Leo Caskenette, died just a month ago. She was a member of St. Clement's Church. Survivors include eight children, James, Richard, Charles, Thomas, Mrs. George (Ruth) Goddard, all of Preston; Mrs. Arthur (Rita) Hatt, Mrs. Grant (Marie) Fischer, Mrs. Robert (Doris) Pfeiffer, all of Doon. Also surviving are two brothers, Edward Mosack, Preston and Frank Mosack, Kitchener and a sister, Mrs. Herbert Fach, Preston. There are 23 grandchildren. The body will be at the Stager-Pass funeral home here until 9 a.m., Thursday, when requiem high mass will be celebrated at St. Clement's Church by Rev. P. J. Meyer. Burial is to be at Preston RC cemetery.

    Passed away, at the age of 91, on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at Grand River Hospital. Beloved husband of Hedy for 63 years. Forever missed by his three children: Lynn (Bill) Strouth of Wasaga Beach, Gary (Kathy) Caskenette of Port Dover and Jamie (Ingrid) Caskenette of Kitchener. Jerry was blessed with five grandchildren; Natalie and Jennifer Strouth of Guelph, Tammy (Kevin) Sundberg, Kathryn Caskenette (Will Frost) and Stephanie Caskenette, all of Kitchener and further blessed with three great-grandchildren Marissa, Brock and Peyton. He is also survived by his sisters Lorraine Andrews of Niagara-on-the-Lake and Leona (Peter) Chomitz of Kitchener and his sister-in-law Anita Caskenette of St. Catharines. Predeceased by his parents Louis and Margaret Caskenette and by his brothers Harry Caskenette of St. Catharines, Walter Caskenette of Cambridge (Preston) and his brother-in-law Stan Andrews of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Jerry was born September 30, 1920 in Cambridge (Preston) where he lived until three years ago when he and Hedy moved to Doon Village Retirement Residence. Jerry was a long time employee of the Waterloo Region District School Board. After his family, his next true love was golf and he spent every possible moment at Doon Valley Golf Course along with his adoring wife, enjoying a round or two of golf. If you visited Jerry and Hedy in their home, you would often find Jerry in his basement repairing and making golf clubs or you would find him watching the golf channel. The family will receive friends at The Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road; Cambridge, Ontario (519-653-3251) on Friday, February 10, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church, 745 Duke Street; Cambridge, Ontario at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2012. Those wishing to make donations in Jerry's memory, may do so to a charity of your choice and would be appreciated by the family.

    Charles Herbert Caskenette

    PRESTON - Charles Herbert Caskenette of Sarnia died Wednesday, at Sarnia General Hospital. He was 44. Mr. Caskenette was born in Windsor and had resided the last 10 years in Sarnia. He was service manager of Toledo Scales, Ltd. He had served over-seas with the merchant navy in the Second World War and was a member of St. Clement's RC Church. He was predeceased by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Leo Caskenette and by two brothers, James and Edward. Surviving are two brothers, Richard of Kitchener and Thomas of Preston. Four sisters, Mrs. George (Ruth ) Goddard of Preston, Mrs. Arthur (Rita) Hatt and Mrs. Robert (Doris) Pfeiffer both of Doon and Mrs. John (Maria) Fisher of Blair. The body will be at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, until Saturday morning then to St. Clement's RC Church for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Preston Park Lawn cemetery.     Passed away peacefully, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at the age of 87. Devoted Husband to Eva (Dvorachek) for 62 years. Loving Father to Laurie Marrone (Harry) and Susan Toffner, Special Papa to Trish Coupal (Christopher), Mark Toffner (Tracey), Jenny Fanning (Simon) and Julie and Jeff Fach. He will be missed by his 7 great-grandchildren, Evan and Leah Coupal, Logan, Carson, Hayden and Samantha Toffner and Sofia Fanning. He will also be missed by Paul and Kathryn Haist and sister, Grace Fach. Art was employed at Preston Dairy (Maple Lane) for 40 years and he was a lifelong member of St. Clement's Parish (Preston) and a Naval Veteran of the Second World War and longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Preston) Branch #126. He was Commissioner of the Intercounty Junior Baseball Association, for more than 30 years. During that time he received many awards for his tireless devotion and attention to the league. Art was a huge fan of most sports, but baseball was his passion for many years and he was an avid bowler until the age of 85. Sadly he was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Olive Fach, sister, June Heffernan and his son James Fach (2007). He developed a love of computers in his 70's and was well known among family and friends for his very special personalized greeting cards. He was active on his computer right up until very recently. He was given the Outstanding Senior of the Year award, in 1999 for his many years of volunteer work at the Allen Reuter Centre, where he worked on the newsletter and taught seniors the joy of playing Solo. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge on Friday, November 6, 2009, from 8: 45 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Clement's R.C. Church, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge on Friday, November 6, 2009, at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow.

    Passed away at the Golden Years Nursing Home on October 25, 2010, at the age of 86. Survived by sister in law, Eva Fach and her nieces and nephews Laurie (Harry) Marrone, Susan Toffner, Tom Heffernan (Heather), Peter Heffernan, Tim Heffernan, Mark Heffernan (Theresa) and Margaret Ann MacDonald (Cal), 11 great-nieces and nephews, as well as 11 great-greatnieces and nephews. Grace is predeceased by her parents, Herb and Olive, her twin sister, June Heffernan, brother Arthur Fach and nephew, James Fach. She was a lifelong member of St. Clements Parish and Catholic Women's League and she was a volunteer at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, for several years. She worked at Kralinator Filter for many years.     Of 1418 Concession Road, Cambridge, passed away, at Toronto General Hospital, on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 1989, in his 56th year. Beloved husband of Jean (Fogarty); dear father of Darlene (Mrs. Gord Kinzie) of Cambridge, Debbie (Mrs. Dave Armitt) of CFB, Petawawa, Dianne Jordan of Kitchener and Dave of Cambridge. Also survived by eight grandchildren; two sisters, Pat (Mrs. Jim Wright) of St. Catharines, Betty (Mrs. James Petrie) of Ottawa. Predeceased by both parents, Margaret and Edward Mosack. Mr. Mosack was born in Kitchener, November 17, 1933 and lived all his life in Cambridge. He was a member of the Scout House Band and a member of the Cambridge Volunteer Fire Department and was employed at Butler Metal for 16 years. At Mr. Mosack's request, the body was donated to medical science. A memorial service will be held at St. Clement's RC Church, Cambridge, Tuesday, Aug. 8, at 10 a.m.
