    Elmira, Nov. 22 - The death occurred yesterday of Albert W. Lorch, 79, at his home, 32 Centre Street. The deceased had been in poor health for the past two months. He was born Feb. 14, 1861, on a farm in Woolwich Township, one mile northwest of Elmira, where he resided until October, 1927, when he moved to his present home. A public -spirited citizen, Mr. Lorch served two years on the Woolwich Township Council and for many years held the post of township road superintendent. He was a member of St. James Lutheran church and had been for many years a member of the church board.

    His wife, one daughter, the late Mrs. John Westfall, and a son, who died in infancy, also predeceased him. surviving are three sons, Henry of Gowanstown, and Charles and Walter of Elmira, four daughters, (Mary) Mrs. Alvin Dreisinger, Elmira, (Carrie) Ms. Albert N. Hett and (Edith) Mrs. Sylvester Israel, both of Kitchener, and (Emma) Mrs. W. Adamson of Ayton, two brothers, Rudolph, Grand Rapids, Mich., and Edward, New Carlisle, Ind., 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

    The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon with a private service at the home at 2 o'clock, with public service at St. James' Lutheran Church at 2: 30. Burial will be in St. James' Cemetery, Elmira, Rev. L. H. Kalbfleisch will officiate at these services. The body will be at the Dreisinger Funeral Chapel until Saturday afternoon.

    Notes:

    William Henry Lorch, former Listowel and Wallace councillor and deputy reeve of Listowel, died Nov. 30 at Listowel Hospital. He was 83.

    Mr. Lorch, a painter by trade, was born in Woolwich Township Aug. 1, 1883, the son of the late Albert Lorch and Mary Oswald. He was married to the former Ada Matilda Koch on Nov. 25, 1908 in Wallace Township.

    Mr. Lorch was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Listowel.
    Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Edna) Seller RR 3, Listowel and Mrs. Noah (Alma) Ament, Listowel; a brother, Charles Lorch of Elmira; two sisters, Mrs. Alvin (Mary) Dreisinger, Elmira; Mrs. William (Emma) Adamson, Waterloo; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

    A public funeral service was held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Listowel, at 2 p.m. Dec. 2, with interment in Fairview cemetery. Rev. R.B. Geelhaar, minister of the church, officiated.

    Mrs. Alvin Dreisinger of Elmira died Sunday at K-W Hospital following a short illness. She was 84.

    The former Mary Ann Lorch, she was born in Woolwich Township April 26, 1885. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lorch.
    She was a member of St. James' Lutheran Church, the women of the church and the sewing circle.

    She was a life-long resident of Elmira. She was predeceased by her first husband, William Steddick, and by her second husband, Alvin Dreisinger, who died in December, 1941. Surviving are one daughter, Alma of Elmira, one brother, Charles Lorch of Elmira, and one sister, Mrs. William Adamson of Waterloo.

    She was predeceased by one daughter, two brothers, and three sisters.

    The body will be at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor until Tuesday noon when removal will be made to St. James' Lutheran Church for service at 3 p.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rev. H.W. Baetz will officiate.

    Alvin Dreisinger Becomes a Benedict.

    A quiet wedding took place on Wednesday evening, at 8 o'clock, when Mrs. William Steddick (formerly Miss Mary Lorch) a young widow, was married to Mr. Alvin Dreisinger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Dreisinger of Elmira. Rev. Mr. Stempfer officiated. Mr. and Mrs. Dreisinger left for a short honeymoon trip to Stratford, London and St. Thomas. On their return, they will reside at Elmira.

    The former Caroline Lorch, Mrs. Dubrick was born in Elmira, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lorch. She was a member of the Women of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, the Golden Age Group and the Brilliant Rebekah Lodge.

    Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Earl (Eileen) Weber of Kitchener; two brothers, Charles of Elmira and Henry of Listowel; two sisters, Mrs. William Adamson of Waterloo, and Mrs. Mary Dreisinger of Elmira, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

    MATILDA LORCH WESTFALL

    A Kind, Loving Mother Dead Mrs. John H. Westfall died on Saturday

    A very sad death occurred in Elmira on Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock, Feb. 21, inst. when Matilda Lorch, beloved wife of Mr. John H. Westall, died after a brief illness. Mr. and Mrs. Westfall were married nine years ago, on November 3, 1910, Mrs. Westfall at the time of her death 31 years, 5 months and 9 days of age. Besides the grief-stricken husband, a daughter of seven and a little boy of two years of age mourn a loving mother's death. Mrs. Westfall was an industrious woman and a true helpmate. She was well liked by all who knew her as a kind neighbour and a good friend. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert lorch. Her parents, three brothers and four sisters survive. The names of her brothers and sisters are: Henry, of Wallace Tp., and Charles and Walter at home; Mary (Mrs. Alvin Dreisinger) of Elmira; Carrie (Mrs. Emerson Esch) and the Misses Edith and Emma, all of Kitchener. Her funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon at 12 o'clock, from her husband's home to St. James Church where services were held, and from thence she was conveyed to the St. James Lutheran Cemetery for burial Rev. John Strempfer conducted the services. The esteem in which Mrs. Westfall was held was evidenced by the number of relatives and friends who visited the house or attended the funeral to pay their last respects. Beloved in life, Mrs. Westfall is sincerely mourned in death. The public of Elmira and district extend to those left behind a full measure of sympathy over their heavy loss.

    Mrs. Sylvester Israel, 57, of 104 Locust St., Kitchener died suddenly at her home early Monday.

    Born Feb. 12, 1891, in Elmira, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lorch. She attended St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and was a member of the Ladies Aid Society.

    Surviving besides her husband, whom she married Feb. 12, 1925, in Elmira, are three brothers, Henry Lorch, Listowel, Charles and Walter, both of Elmira; three sisters, Mrs. Alvin (Mary Ann) Dreisinger, Elmira; Mrs. Albert (Caroline) Hett, Kitchener; Mrs. William (Emma) Adamson, Ayton.

    Funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. John Schneider officiating. Interment was made, in St. James's Lutheran Cemetery, Elmira.

    Walter Lorch, 51, of 52 Centre St., Elmira, died today at the K-W Hospital following a short illness. Born in Woolwich Township, Feb. 20, 1900, he was the youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lorch. He was an active member of St. James Lutheran Church, Elmira, and a member of the church council. Surviving, besides his wife the former Sylvia Snyder, are three sons, Albert, Wilfred and Ronald, all of Elmira; two daughters, Mrs. H. S. (Kathleen) Allen. Hanover, and Miss Shirley, Elmira; two brothers, Henry and Charles and three sisters Mrs. Carrie Hett; Mrs. Mary Dreisinger and Mrs. Emma Adamson. One grandchild also survives. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. James Lutheran Church in Elmira with Dr. H. T. Lehmann, president of Waterloo College and Seminary, officiating. Interment will be made at the Elmira Lutheran Cemetery. The body will rest at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor until 1 pm Saturday at which time removal will be made to the church. Friends are requested to pay respects prior to the service.
