    ABRAHAM S. MARTIN

    On Thursday, Jan. 17, 1980, at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, aged 70 years, of the Fairview Apartments, Cambridge, formerly of the St. Jacobs district.

    Beloved husband of Marion Hoffman; dear father of Laverne and Howard of Waterloo, Mrs. Lawrence (Martha) Martin of Wallenstein, Edmund of Route 4, Elmira, Mrs. Carl (Ellen) Dettwiler of Route 1, West Montrose, Mrs. Earl (Lorene) Bean of New Dundee, Maurice of Route 1, Miilliken, and James of Chatsworth; brother of Menno, Owen, Mrs. Josiah Wideman and Betty Martin.

    He was predeceased by his first wife, Ellen Bauman in 1969, one son, and one brother.

    Also surviving are 22 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

    Visitation at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, after Friday noon, until Saturday noon, when removal will be made to the St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, for funeral service at 3 p.m.

    Burial in St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery.

    Abraham married Ellen S. Bauman 31 Oct 1933. Ellen (daughter of Martin S.     MARTIN, Menno S. - Peacefully on Sunday, July 31, 2005 at Chateau Gardens, Elmira. Menno S. Martin founder of Menno S. Martin Contractor Ltd. in his 95th year, of St. Jacobs. Beloved husband of the late Elvina Martin (1998). Loving father of Lena and Roy Roth of Elmira and Verna Loewen of Kitchener. Fondly remembered by his three grandsons, Rod and Sylvia Roth, Steve and Tania Roth and James Loewen; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Adam Roth. Brother of Owen Martin and brother-in-law of Josiah Wideman and Leah Martin. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents, Ezra and Judith (Sauder) Martin; a son, James in infancy; son-in-law, Les Loewen (2004); 2 brothers and 2 sisters. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira today, (Tuesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p. m. At noon on Wednesday, August 3, transfer will be made to St. Jacobs Mennonite Church for funeral service at 2: 30 p. m. with Pastor Barb Smith-Morrison and Pastor Wendy Janzen officiating followed by interment in St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Mennonite Central Committee would be appreciated by the family.

    Martin.- Philip S., son of Ezra A. and Judith (Sauder) Martin, was born at St. Jacobs, Ont., Aug. 27, 1919; died at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Ont., following a lengthy illness, July 16, 1969; aged 49 y. 10 m. 19 d. On Oct. 27, 1943, he was married to Leah Rudy who survives. Also surviving are 10 children (Alvin, Aaron. Naomi, Armand, Vera, Elma, Margaret, Omar, Nora, and Herbert), one grandson, and 2 brothers and one sister (Abraham, Menno Owen, and Betty-Mrs. Josiah Wideman Judith). He was a member of the St. Jacobs Church, where funeral services were held July 19, with Glenn Brubacher and Simon Martin officiating.

    FISHER, Margaret Martin Goshen, Indiana, 61, slipped away peacefully Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Elkhart General Hospital, after receiving a cancer diagnosis in November. She was born October 11, 1952 in St. Jacobs, Ontario, to Philip S. and Leah Rudy Martin. On May 17, 1975, she married James E. Fisher in Winston-Salem, N.C. He survives along with two children, Melissa (David Fast) Fisher Fast, Elkhart, Indiana, and Matthew (Hannah Gustafson) Fisher, Vancouver, B.C.; two grandchildren, Micah and Annelise Fast; eight siblings, Alvin (Ruth) Martin, Dutton, Ontario, Aaron (Loretta) Martin, Elmira, Ontario, Naomi (Nevelle) De'Rozario, Kitchener, Ontario, Armand (Ginny) Martin, Goshen, Vera (Elmer) Martin, Bowmanville, Ontario, Elma (Tim) Freed, London, Ontario, Nora (Steve McInnis) Martin, Woodstock, Ontario, and Herb (Wanda) Martin, St. Jacobs, Ontario; a sister-in-law, Lynne Martin, Winnipeg, Manitoba; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Omar Martin. Friends may call 3 to 5 p.m. and 6: 30 to 8: 30 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to service at Waterford Mennonite Church, Goshen. An 11: 00 a.m. funeral service will be conducted Saturday at Waterford Mennonite Church. Cremation will follow the funeral service.
