    Notes:

    Doris passed away at St. Mary's General Hospital on Friday, January 21, 2011 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

    She is survived by her two sons whom she loved dearly, son Michael and his wife Brigid and their children Marc (Martha) and Rachel (Dominic) and son Peter and his wife Terry Marr and their daughter Claire; special brothers-in-law William (Buck) Uffelman and Richard (Dick) Meunier; and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Doris is also survived by brother-in-law Douglas Copland and his wife Lois of Ottawa. Doris will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by special friends Jean Hill, Joan Heaton and Dr. John Rhodes.

    Doris was predeceased by her husband Robert; her parents Burton (Gamey) and Ida (Lautenschlager) Lederman; sisters Erla Uffelman and Joan Meunier; her brother Ross; and special niece Susan Schwalm.

    Friends and relatives are invited to share memories of Doris at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, January 26 from 7-9 p.m. The memorial service to celebrate Doris' life will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. A reception will immediately follow at Westmount Golf and Country Club. Interment will follow at a later date.

    Doris' family would like to thank the nurses and Dr. Mary Jackson for the kindness they showed Doris during her final days. A special thank you to Rev. Paul Ellingham for providing Doris with the courage she needed to take her final journey.

    ERLA ELAINE UFFELMAN

    Erla Elaine Uffelman passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2001 at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, age 75 years, after a brave battle with cancer.

    Beloved wife of William H. Uffelman for 54 years; dear mother of Scott and his wife Janet, Elizabeth Wing and her husband Paul, Cathy Plomske and her husband Grant, all of Waterloo; loving grandmother of Luke and Kristina Schwalm, Emily, Kate and James Uffelman, Elysse and Todd Wing, Adam, John and Heidi Plomske; dear sister of Doris Copland and her husband Bob of Kitchener and Ross Lederman of Waterloo. Also survived by her son-in-law David Schwalm and his wife Lynda of Toronto; her brother-in-law Richard Meunier of Waterloo and many nieces and nephews.

    Predeceased by her parents Gamey and Ida Lederman; her loving daughter Susan Schwalm (1986) and her sister, Joan Meunier.
    Erla was an avid golfer and a longtime member of Westmount Golf and Country Club, Kitchener and the Mnidoo Valley Golf and Country Club, Manitowaning and spent her summers at their summer home on Manitoulin Island. She was a member of Parkminster United Church, Waterloo.

    Erla loved her family very much and was actively involved in their lives. She was the matriarch of the family and will be truly missed by all.
    A family memorial service was held on Wednesday, August 1, 2001. Cremation with interment in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
    Memorial contributions to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre would be appreciated as an expression of sympathy.

    Thank you to all the palliative nurses of Care Partners for your loving care of Erla and the oncology staff on 5 Centre at Grand River Hospital for you comfort and support.
