    Demise of Robt. H. Manson

Passes away while en route to Ayr on a visit - The community was startled and grieved on Monday to learn of the death of Robert H. Manson of Grant, Nebraska, brother of our esteemed citizen, Mr. John A. Manson. About a month ago the deceased started on a motoring trip to Ayr, accompanied by his wife and daughter. On reaching Davenport, Iowa, where they visited with some friends for a few days, Mr. Manson was suddenly taken ill and had to be removed to the hospital, where he died on Sunday morning. The body was sent on to Ayr, arriving here by C. P. R. on Monday afternoon, accompanied by the family, also a brother, Mr. Wm. G. Manson of Deloge, Missouri, and Mr. and Mrs. C. Johns of Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Manson, who was in his 52nd year, was born, on the homestead near Ayr and went west some 30 years since, where he engaged in railroad work for a while, but was latterly in the service of a bank, and had visited here on several occasions in recent years, He was twice married, his first wife being Polly Johns of Ayr, who died at Grant, Neb., a few years later, and whose remains lie in the cemetery there. The present Mrs. Manson was a Mrs. Logan, residing in the west. The family started east on a joyous holiday trip, but the return home will naturally be saddened by the absence of the head of the family, once more illustrating the truth of the axiom ''Man proposes, God disposes." Three brothers and a sister survive. They are: John A., and Miss Bessie, Ayr, Wm. G., Deloge, Mo., and A. Lyon, San Barnardino, Can. Interment was made in the Ayr cemetery on Tuesday afternoon, the funeral taking pace from the old homestead, lot 33, con. 7, North Dumfries, and the service being conducted by Rev. J. J. Brown. The pallbearers were old neighbors and boyhood associates, viz. Messrs. John Cochrane, R. Morton, Jas. W. Hall, Geo. Guthrie, Arch. G. Watson and J. W. Henderson.
