Death Of Chisholm Scott

Lifelong Resident of This Village Passes Suddenly in His 70th Year

The sudden death occurred at his home on Stanley Street this (Wednesday) morning at 10 o'clock of Chisholm Scott, in his 70th year. Mr. Scott had been in ill health for about four years, but had been seriously ill for only one week. He was born in Ayr, a son of Andrew Scott and Eliza Thompson, and had resided in this village practically all of his lifetime. Mr. Scott was a member of the former Methodist Church and after union, of Knox United, where he was a regular attendant and valued member of the choir. He was also a member of the Canadian Order of Foresters. Deceased was an employee of the former Hilborn plant here for some 40 years. He was a good citizen and was highly esteemed by many friends. Besides his widow, whose maiden name was Rachel Woolsey, he is survived by two sisters and one brother, viz.: Mrs. Muir Anderson, Guelph; Mrs. Sim Barclay, Toronto, and Edward Scott, London. The funeral will take place on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock to the Ayr Cemetery.
