    MR. CHRISTIAN ZIEGLER

    Death came with startling suddenness yesterday morning about 10 o'clock to Mr. Christian Ziegler, he passing away at the Alexander House death being due to heart failure. The deceased had been in his usual good health and his sudden passing away will come as a great shock to his many friends. Born in Woolwich, his early days were spent there and later on he came to Waterloo where for many years he resided. He was aged 53 years 2 months and 2 days and to mourn his death there are left one son, Calvin of London and one daughter Emma of Kitchener who have the sympathy of the community, in this their hour of sorrow. His wife predeceased him eleven years ago. Mr. John Ziegler of town is a half brother and two sisters Foerster of Hawkesville and Mrs. Lefler, of Erbsville also survive.

    The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock froin the residence of Mr. Chas. Roehr, 170 De Kay street Kitchener to the Waterloo Cemetery for interment.

    Friends of this vicinity are sorry to hear the sad news of the death of Mrs. Valentine Foerster, formerly of here. Her husband predeceased her several years, while living on the farm now owned by Mr. Henry K. Brubacher. After Mr. Foerster's death she moved to St. Jacob's where she passed away on Wednesday.

    Jacob Ziegler Early City Builder Dies At 81

    A man who started his building career in the city of Edmonton in 1905, Jacob Ziegler, 81, of 7611 81st St., has died.

    A native of Waterloo, Ont., who came west with his parents in 1893, Mr. Ziegler was raised on a farm in the Spruce Grove district. In 1905 he set up a building construction business in Edmonton where he remained until 1916 when he took over the management of a large farm
    in the Strome district.

    He returned to his building business in Edmonton in 1921 where he remained until his retirement.

    He was predeceased by his wife Katherine, a resident of the Ellerslie district..

    In his younger years, Mr. Ziegler was very active in church work, being one of the early elders of Redeemer Lutheran Church, 97th Street and 74th Avenue.

    He is survived by a son, Roy Jacob, and one daughter, Mrs. Fred (Mable) Zurch, both of Edmonton; four grandchildren and one great grand-daughter. There are also two brothers, Noah and Fred in Edmonton. and three sisters, Mrs. Christine Findlay, at Kelowna, B.C., Mrs. Lena Everington, of Stony Plain, and Mrs. Clara Lakeman, of Edmonton.

    Funeral services were held Thursday from Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. E. B. Fox officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

    The first death to occur in Waterloo as a result of the present severe epidemic of Spanish Influenza took place on Sunday afternoon when Ralph Walter, the only son and child of Mr. and Mrs. John Ziegler, succumbed after a week's illness. from pneumonia, Following Influenza. He was aged 19 years, 1 month and 10 days.

    A wide circle of friends will deep ly sympathize with the family in the sore bereavement which has come to them.

    The funeral of the late Ralph Ziegler will take place on Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock from the residence King St. Following service at the home, a public service will be held in St. John's Lutheran Church, after which interment will take place in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
