BAUMAN, Earl S. (1919 - 2008) - Following a lengthy illness, on Friday, May 30, 2008, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital. Earl S. Bauman in his 90th year, formerly of Elmira and Floradale. Beloved husband for 58 years of Ruby L. (Gies) Bauman who predeceased him in 2004. Dear father of Robert Bauman and Steven Coulson, Richard and Donna Bauman, Keith and Lynne Bauman, Douglas and Ruth Bauman all of Waterloo, Ruth and Terry Seiling of Elmira. Cherished grandfather of Michael (Stacy) Seiling, Gregory (Sarah) Seiling, Adam Seiling and Joshua Bauman and great-grandfather of Hailey and Brooklyn Seiling. Predeceased by his parents, Abraham and Lydiann (Shoemaker) Bauman; two brothers and their wives, Walter and Evelyn Bauman, Edward and Ruby Bauman. Earl was a member of the Holstein Association of Canada for 61 years and received the Master Breeder Shield from the association, the highest award bestowed in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the Holstein Breed. Over the years, holsteins from his Floraholme Farm at Floradale were exported to over 30 countries. Earl was an innovator in many agricultural projects including the Waterloo County Stockyards, of which he was one of the original founders (now the Ontario Livestock Exchange and St. Jacobs Farmers Market.)-
