    Notes:

Death of Miss Holmes -The sympathy of the entire community will go out to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Holmes in the death of their second daughter, Annie E., who passed away at 10.30 a. m., on Tuesday, May 28 after an illness of several weeks, the immediate cause of death being bronchial-pneumonia. The deceased, who was in her 48th year, had been ailing for some time, but was seized with a sever prostration just two weeks previous to her death. She was born in Ayr and had lived here all her life, having been employed as a bookkeeper with some of the largest firms in town ever since her girlhood - first with the late Wm. Baker, and afterwards with Baker & McColl and Mr. D. McColl, and lately with The Gilchrist-Ramsay Co. and The R. O. Puddicombe Co. She was also prominent in church circles, and for some years was organist and choir leader in the Methodist church, of which denomination she was a devout member. By her associate members of the choir and a large circle of intimate friends Miss Holmes will be deeply mourned. Besides her father and mother, a brother and three sisters survive to mourn their loss. They are - Miss Louisa and Arthur W., Toronto, Mrs. (Rev.) Henry Irvine, Winnipeg, and Mrs. D. A. Clink, Toronto. The funeral, which will take place to the Ayr cemetery at 2.30 p.m. today (Thursday) will be conducted by her pastor, Rev. D. H. Taylor.
