    Passing of Mrs. James K. Kyle

    A lifelong resident of this district, Mrs. James K. Kyle of Spring Valley Farm, Drumbo, died at K-W Hospital, Kitchener, on Sunday, in her 72nd year.

    She was the only daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James E. Black. South Dumfries. The late Mrs. Kyle was known to a wide circle of friends and was greatly admired for her homemaking qualities and devotion to 'her family.

    She was an active member of Knox United Church, Ayr, the Kate M. Thomson Auxiliary W.M.S., and the Blenheim - Dumfries Farm Women's Club. Mrs. Kyle was also a well-known horticulturist.

    Surviving, besides her husband, are one son, Hector, Ayr; three daughters, Mrs. David Brown and Mrs. Richard Baxter, both of R.R. 3, Bright, and Jean, at home; and five brothers, George W. Black, Paris; Lloyd, Kincardine; G. T., Hamilton, and Robert J. and J. Marr, Strathclair, Manitoba; and 11 grandchildren.

    The funeral service was held this (Wednesday) afternoon at the family residence with Rev. W. D. Goodger officiating. Interment was made in Ayr Cemetery.

    A life-long resident of Ayr district Mrs. David Brown of RR 3, Bright, passed away at her home on Tuesday, June 8th. She was in her 78th year. The former Margaret Esther Kyle, she was a daughter of the late James Kyle and Jean Black, and was born on the Kyle home farm, RR 1, Drumbo. Mrs. Brown was a member of Knox United Church, Ayr, and formerly active in the United Church Women. She was a teacher, having taught at the Lower Tenth and Greenfield Schools. Wife of the late David Brown; dear mother of Edith, at home, Barbara of Toronto, Douglas and daughter-in-law Arlene of Salmon Arm, B.C. Loving grandmother of Gary, Jacalyn and Jennifer; dear sister of Helen Baxter of Ayr; and Jean of RR 1, Drumbo; and Hector Kyle. Predeceased by brother Harold and sister Edith. A family funeral and committal service was held at the Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, Paris, on Friday. Interment in Ayr Cemetery.

    Mrs. Richard Baxter - Mrs. Richard N. Baxter of Bute Street, Ayr passed away at Fergus on Thursday, April 9th. She was in her 80th year. The former Helen Kyle, she was a daughter of the late James Kyle and Jean Black. Mrs. Baxter farmed with her husband for many years on the 11th Concession of Blenheim before moving into Ayr in 1968. She was a life-long member of Knox United Church, Ayr, and the United Church Women. Predeceased by her husband in 1971; an infant daughter; sisters, Esther Brown and Edith Kyle; brothers Harold and Hector Kyle and son-in-law, Murray Hill. Dear mother of Hugh and his wife Sharon of Bracebridge; Jane Baxter of Calgary and Mrs. Isabelle Hill of Fergus; dear grandmother of Andrea and Suzanne Baxter of Bracebridge and Matthew and Allyson Hill of Fergus and sister of Jean Kyle of Ayr.     Hector Gordon Kyle of Church Street, Ayr passed away on Saturday, February 2nd. He was in his 76th year. Born at Spring Valley Farm, 7th Concession of Blenheim, he was a son of the late James Kyle and Jean Black. He operated Spring Valley Dairy in Ayr and Paris. In later years he operated Ayr Machine Shop on Swan Street, Ayr. Mr. Kyle was a well-known steam engine enthusiast and had restored many prize winning engines. He was a member of Knox United Church, for-merly an active member of Ayr Curling Club, and member of the Hardy Bay Hunt Club. Predeceased by two sisters Edith Kyle and Esther Brown and a twin brother Harold. Surviving are his wife, the former Jeannette Wallace; two sons David of Scarborough and Donald of Arlington, Texas; a grandson Cameron of Arlington; two sisters Helen Baxter of Ayr and Jean Kyle of RR 1, Drumbo. Funeral service was held at the Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, Paris on Tuesday af-ternoon with Rev. George Saunders officiating. Interment in Ayr Cemetery.

    Community Shocked By Death Of Harold Kyle In His 43rd Year

    Harold Kyle, well-known Blenheim farmer, died in Galt Hospital at noon today (Wednesday) in his 43rd year. He suffered a paralytic stroke several weeks ago, from which he failed to rally.

    The late Mr. Kyle was born on, "Spring Valley Farm," one of the district's outstanding dairy farms, where he spent his entire life.

    He was widely known as a hunter and usually made the annual pilgrimage to northern Ontario during the deer season. He was greatly interested in community social life,
    and was a member of the Townline Community Club, and also served as a school section trustee.

    Mr. Kyle was a faithful member of Knox United Church. Surviving, besides his wife, are five children: Ann, James, Rodney, Louise and Janice. Also surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Kyle, "Spring' Valley Farm": three sisters, Mrs. David Brown (Esther), and Mrs. Richard Baxter (Helen), both of Blenheim, and Jean, at home. A twin brother, Hector, resides in Ayr. Funeral arrangements are being completed.

    A well-known Ayr resident Jean Kyle of Kirkwood passed away at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, on Friday, September 15th. She was in her 77th year. Born on the Kyle family farm, 7th concession of Blenheim, she was a daughter of the late James Kingsburgh Kyle and Jane Black. Except for a short time in Burlington, Miss Kyle resided all her life in this district. She was employed for several years as a cook at Willett Hospital, Paris, and Park Lane Nursing Home, Paris. She was a member of Knox United Church, Ayr and the United Church Women. An active curler and lawn bowler, she was honoured for her service and dedication to Ayr Curling Club by being named a life member of the Club. Survived by sisters-in-law Jeanette of Ayr and Ruth of Brantford, and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Edith Kyle, Esther Brown and Helen Baxter and brothers Harold and Hector. Rested at the Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, Paris, where Rev. George Saunders of Knox Church, Ayr, conducted funeral service on Monday. Interment Ayr Cemetery.

    BROWN, Margaret "Edith" Edith

    Passed away at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener, on Friday, November 3, 2017, in her 89th year. Edith was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived and sadly missed by a sister-in-law, Arlene Brown, nieces, Jacalyn and Jennifer and one nephew, Gary and their families in British Columbia, as well as many cousins and her friends. Predeceased by her Parents, David Brown and Esther Margaret Kyle, as well as her sister, Barbara and brother, Douglas. Edith was born on the 11th Concession, she became and worked as a nurse in many places throughout Canada and the United States and was the Head of the Nursery at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, for some time. Honoring Edith's requests cremation has taken place. Family and Friends may call at the Ayr Chapel, of Wm Kipp Funeral Home, 183 Northumberland St. Ayr, on Thursday, November 9, 2017, from 2-4 p.m. for visitation. Visitation will continue on Friday, November 10, 2017, from 10: 00 - 10: 45 a.m., followed by a service in the Funeral Home Chapel, at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. Interment at Ayr Cemetery.

    Barbara G. Brown, died at her home in Toronto on Sunday, May 12,1996. She was in her 64th year. Born in Cambridge, she was a daughter of the late Esther Kyle and David Brown. Miss Brown was a former public health nurse in Cambridge; Professor of Nursing, University of Western Ontario; professional staff of the R.N AO. Council of Nurses; unit manager at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Toronto and most recently was clinical nurse specialist geriatric outreach program, Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto. She will be dearly missed by her sister, Edith Brown of RR 3, Bright; her sister-in-law, Arlene Brown and her nieces Jacalyn and Jennifer, all of Salmon Arm, B.C. and by her nephew Gary Brown of Langley, B.C. Predeceased by her brother Douglas Brown. Funeral service was held at the Ayr Chapel, Wm. Kipp Funeral Home on Thursday, May 16th. Reverend Des McCalmont of Eastminster United Church, Toronto, officiated. Interment was in Ayr Cemetery. A memorial service will also be held at Eastminster United Church, 310 Danforth Avenue, Toronto, on Sunday, May 26 at 5 p.m.

    Jane Elizabeth Baxter passed away at the Foothills Hospital, Calgary, Alberta on October 6, 2004 at the age of 67 years. Jane will be lovingly remembered by her brother Hugh (Sharon) of Vancouver; sister, Isabelle (Frank) of Miami; nieces and nephews Andrea (Rob) of Vancouver, Suzanne of Dublin, Ireland, Matthew (Melanie) of Guelph, Ont., Allyson (Hiroshi) of Barrie, Ont.; three great-nephews and two great-nieces, as well as many friends and relatives. Jane, daughter of Helen and Richard Baxter, was raised in Blenheim Township. She graduated from Hamilton General Hospital in 1958 as a registered nurse. She went to Calgary and worked at the Foothills Hospital for twenty-five years. Jane travelled the world. She loved family, friends and laughter. A memorial service was held in Calgary on Monday, October 11th. A further memorial service will be held in Ayr in June, 2005.
