    Death of Mary Hoggarth

    The death occurred at her home at Wolverton Station this (Wednesday) morning of Mary Melvin, widow of the late James Hoggarth, in her 78th year. She had been ailing for some time and her demise was not unexpected. Deceased had been a resident of the Wolverton district for some 40 years. During a previous marriage, she resided at Thorold for several years. She is survived by two sons and two daughters: William Robertson, Port Colborne; Fred. Poehlrnan, Thorold; Mrs. Fred. Barlow, Buffalo, and Mrs. George Hamilton, at home. Two brothers and two sisters also survive, viz.: David Melvin, St. Thomas; Albert Melvin, Ayr; Mrs. Jen Anderson, Beachville, and Mrs. Sara Macdonald, Brantford. The funeral will take place from the home of her son-in-law, George Hamilton, Wolverton, on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, interment being made In Ayr Cemetery.

    Mrs. Annie Hamilton

    A life-long resident of the Wolverton area, Mrs. Annie Hamilton, passed away in Woodstock General Hospital on Saturday, December 24th, following a short illness. She was in her 75th year. The former Annie Brown Hogarth, she was born near Wolverton, a daughter of the late James Hogarth and Mary Melvin. After marriage to the late George W. Hamilton, the couple farmed on the farm now owned by Walter Weerdhuizen. She was a member of Drumbo Willis United Church and Drumbo Women's Institute. Following the death of her husband in 1957, she had resided with daughters in Brantford and Wolverton. Predeceased by her husband, survived by two daughters Mrs. Gordon (Jean) Carter of Brantford and Mrs. Ronald (Merdina) Brooks of Wolverton; also six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The complete funeral service was conducted by Rev. Mardie MacDonald at the Rumble Funeral Home, Princeton on Monday. Interment in Ayr Cemetery.
