    Diebel, Edward Addison - Aged 76, of 157 Snyder Rd. E., Baden, passed away Oct. 17 at St. Mary's Hospital, following a brief illness. Born March 25, 1899 in Wilmot Township, resided in Baden most of his life and had been a telephone linesman; retired from Bennett and Wright Construction Company. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Baden; a son of the late Peter C. Diebel and the former Veronica Wilhelm. He is survived by his wife, the former Olive Lieskau; also by two daughters, Mrs. Calvin (Jean) Prachar and Mrs. Charles (Evelyn) Powell, both of Kitchener; brothers, Albert of New Hamburg and Robert of Waterloo; three sisters, Mrs. Edward (Nellie) Manser of Kitchener, Mrs. Alex (Margaret) Cooper of Wallaceburg and Mrs. Stuart (Alice) Kechnie of Kitchener; and seven grandchildren. Will rest at the Bruce J. Omand Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg, where friends will be received today from 7-9 and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral and committal services will be held at St. James Lutheran Church, Baden on Monday at 3 pm. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

    JEAN OLIVE AMELIA PRACHAR (nee DIEBEL) 1924 - 2009 Jean was born January 24, 1924 in Baden. She was washed in the waters of Holy Baptism, and later was confirmed on March 21, 1937 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Baden by Rev. Horace Erdman. On August 23, 1947 she was united in Holy Marriage to Calvin Joseph Prachar at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, New Hamburg. Their union was blessed with two sons. She entered eternal life on August 18, 2009 at the age of 85 years. Jean's parents, Edward and Olive (Leiskau) Diebel, predeceased her in 1975 and 1987 respectively. Her loving husband Calvin went to be with his Lord on June 3, 2009. She is survived by her sons, Rev. Thomas Prachar of Regina, Saskatchewan and Robert Prachar (Desiree Mambella) of Stittsville; her sister, Evelyn (Charles) Powell of Kitchener; brothers-in-law, Andy Prachar of Mississauga, Henry (Pauline) Prachar of Waterloo and Adolph (Sylvia) Prachar of Kitchener; nieces and nephews, Linda (Gary) Weinstein of Kitchener, Lois (Ron) Green of Kitchener, Brenda (Mike) Wiles of Waterloo, Mark (Carol) Powell of Dorr, Michigan, Joan (Peter) Trautrim of Waterloo, Andrea (Roger) Kieswetter of Waterloo, Tina (Garth) Anderson of Calgary, Greg (Kelly) Prachar of Burlington, Brian (Tracy) Prachar of London and Nancy Isaac of Ottawa. Lovingly remembered by Lore and her daughter Christa Franek of Kitchener. Visitation will be held at the Erb and Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, August 22 (today) from 7-9 p.m. and on Sunday, August 23 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at Faith Lutheran Church, 247 Westmount Rd. E., Kitchener on Monday, August 24, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert Krestick officiating. Reception will follow the service in the Church Hall. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener for those who wish to attend. Donations in Jean's memory may be made to Faith Lutheran Church Building Fund or Osteoporosis Canada, and can be arranged through the funeral home, 519-745-8445 or www.erbgood.com. In living memory of Jean, a donation will be made to the Trees for Learning Program by the funeral home.
