    Passed Away Very Suddenly
    Returns To His Former Home But Only For Short Time

    Very suddenly came the call to great beyond for Carl Kuhl on Sunday afternoon. While talking to members of his family he suddenly fell off his chair and expired before a doctor reached the house. The deceased was born in Hessen, Germany, June 24th, 1866, and came to Canada with Mr. Peter Kuhl and the late George Geisel. In 1888, he was married to Elizabeth Lang, daughter of the late Casper and Mrs. Lang. The family lived in and near Elmira for some time, then nine years about half way between here and St. Jacobs, 10 years near Breslau, and the last five years near Hespeler. The deceased and his wife then felt a desire to return to where they had spent their earlier years, so they bought a home in Elmira, the Hoelscher property on William Street. But he was not destined to enjoy this home long, only a few short months. He is survived by his sorrowing wife and five children, namely, Katie (Mrs. Chas. Kubbe), Puslinch; Amelia, of Fergus; William, at home; Emma (Mrs. Josiah Schmidt), Preston; Salome (Mrs. Ray McKay), of Kamsack, Sask.; and an adopted son, Victor, also survives. The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon. Owing to Rev. Gallmeier's absence at Detroit, Rev. A. Orzen, of Kitchener conducted the funeral service.

    William Kuhl

    The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon from his late residence on Factory Street, Elmira, to St. James' Lutheran Church for service of William Kuhl, who died at the K-W hospital on Saturday, where he had been a patient for about a week. Rev. L. Kalbfleisch had charge of the service.

    The pall-bearers were: Messrs. Henry Conrad, A. finch, Victor Stumpf, E. Dreisinger, Jacob Schmetzer and J. Dreisinger.

    Interment was made in the Elmira Cemetery. Mr. Kuhl, who was in his 41st year, had been in ill-health for the past five years.

    He was born in Elmira, moving to Waterloo some years ago. In February of this year he returned with his family to Elmira. He was a member of St. James' Lutheran Church in Elmira.

    Surviving are his widow, four daughters, Kathleen, Helen, Betty and Jean and three sons, Edward, Clarence and Robert, all at home. His mother of Kitchener, four sisters, Mrs. Schmidt, of Preston, Mrs. Ray McKay of Kamsack, Sask., Miss Amelia Kuhl of Fergus and Mrs. Cubby of Erin, also survive.

    William married Rosetta Holling 20 Jun 1923, Kitchener, Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada.     ROBERT (BOB) KUHL 1931 - 2007 Bob passed away, after a brief illness, at St. Mary's General Hospital, in Kitchener, on Saturday, October 13, 2007, at the age of 76. Beloved husband of Norma (formerly Musselman, nee Heimpel). Will be sadly missed by step-daughter, Donna Marshall and Orvie Sauder of Kitchener. Also missed by grandsons, John and Brenda Marshall and Jeremy Marshall and Monique Desbrasis, all of London and two great-grandchildren, Erin and Nicholas. Bob is also survived by his step-brother, Bill and Marlene Hangartner of Lindsay and his nieces and nephews. He was a pal and a friend to many people in the Elmira area and will be sadly missed. Predeceased by his parents; brothers Clarence and Ed; sisters Helen and Kay and other relatives. Friends and relatives are invited to share memories of Bob during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King Street South in Waterloo on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 1 p.m. with Rev. Robert Krestick officiating. A reception will follow at the funeral home. Cremation with interment at Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo.
