    Notes:

    Jutzi - Daniel S., son of Michael and Marie (Shrag) Jutzi, was born in Oxford Co., Ont., Nov. 27, 1873; died March 2, 1960, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ezra Streicher, Tavistock, Ont., after an illness of 2 weeks; aged 86 y. 3 m. 4 d. On Nov. 8, 1896, he was married to Veronica Roth who died March 14, 1951. Surviving are 3 daughters (Annie--Mrs. Ezra Streicher and Elizabeth--Mrs.. William Kelly, of Tavistock; and Sarah--Mrs. Elmer Gingrich, Baden, Ont.), one son (Nicholas, Tavistock), 23 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 5 sisters. One daughter, one son, 5 sisters, 3 brothers, 4 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren preceded him in death. In 1902 he was ordained as deacon, in 1914 as minister, and in 1917 as bishop of the East Zorra A.M. Church, in which office he served faithfully until his retirement a number of years ago. During his ministry he was instrumental in the baptism of 817 people and performed 259 marriages. Funeral services were held March 5 at the East Zorra Church in charge of Daniel Zehr, Joel Schwartzentruber, and Henry Yantzi, with testimonies by Samuel Schultz, Moses O. Jantzi, and Chris Brunk.

    Jutzi, Michael, son of Daniel and the late Veronica (Roth) Jutzi, was born in Oxford Co., Ont., May 4, 1900; passed to his eternal reward after a short illness, on Nov. 7, 1955; aged 55 y. 6 m. 2 d. He was twice married His first wife, Sarah Baechler, preceded him in death in 1944. On Jan. 14, 1945, he was united in marriage to Druscilla Bender Zehr who survives. In his youth he accepted Christ as her personal Saviour and was a member of the East Zorra A. M. Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by his father, 6 daughters (Alice-Mrs. Elmer B. Wagler, Hilda-Mrs. Elmer L. Wagler, both of New Hamburg; ruby-Mrs. Vernon Roth, and Velma-Mrs. David Gerber, both of South Easthope; Mary Ellen and Esther, at home),.one stepson (Nelson Zehr, Waterloo, Co.), 2 stepdaughters (Laurence-Mrs. Glen Roth and Catherine Zehr, both of Stratford), one brother (Nickolas, East Zorra), 3 sisters (Mrs. Ezra Streicher and Mrs. William Kelly, Tavistock; and Mrs. Elmer Gingrich, Baden), and 12 grandchildren. Funeral service was held at the East Zorra Church in charge of Henry Yantzi and Daniel Zehr. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.

Beloved husband of Luella Bender; dear father of Curtis of Owen Sound, Lester of Calgary, Alta., Ronald of Stratford, and Mrs. Kenneth (Doris) Roi of Tavistock, dear brother of Mrs. Erza (Annie) Streicher of Tavistock. Mrs. William (Elizabeth) Kelly of Tavistock, and Mrs, Elmer (Sarah) Gingerich) of New Hamburg. Predeceased by one brother and one sister. Lovingly remembered by 13 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Robert Krug Funeral Home, Tavistock, until noon of Saturday, when transfer will be made to East Zorra Mennonite Church 16th Line for funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will be in adjoining cemetery. The Rev. Oliver Yantzi will officiate.

Also missed by her step-children, Robert Schiedel, Douglas and Sharon Schiedel, Donald and Marg Schiedel, David Schiedel, Betty and Peter Juknys and number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.     SCHWASS: Esther Marjorie (nee Jutzi) of Tavistock passed away peacefully in the Maples Home for Seniors, Tavistock on Thursday January 9, 2020. She was born on October 25, 1938 a daughter of the late Michael & Sarah (Baechler) Jutzi.

    Esther is survived by her husband, Howard Schwass, whom she married on June 1, 1957; four sons,
    James and wife Cathy, Richard and wife Jo-Anne Schwass, Bruce Schwass and spouse Matt Peck, Greg and wife Donna Schwass; three grandchildren, Daniel Schwass, Matthew Schwass and Olivia Schwass; two sisters, Hilda and husband Elmer L. Wagler, Mary Ellen and husband Emmanuel Brubacher; step-brother, Nelson and wife Barbara Zehr; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Vernon and Linda Schwass and Margaret Tugwood along with several nieces, nephews and their families.

    She was predeceased by her brother, Lloyd Jutzi in infancy; sisters, Alice and husbands Elmer B. Wagler and Robert Schiedel, Ruby and husband Vernon Roth, Velma and husband David Gerber; her step-mother Druscilla Roth; by step sisters, Laurene Roth and Catherine Zehr; by brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, William Tugwood, Jean and Vincent Rumig.

    Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home 77 Woodstock St., N., Tavistock on Sunday January 12, 2020 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.. The funeral service will be held in the Tavistock Mennonite Church on Tuesday January 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Jim Brown will officiate. Interment in East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery, 16th Line. Reception to follow.

    ERB, Mabel Passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at K-W Health Centre, Freeport Hospital. Mabel resided in New Hamburg and was born 85 years ago in Wilmot Township. She was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Jutzi) Kelly. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Erb who predeceased her May 31, 1992. Loving mother of Peter and Joyce Erb of Bowmanville, Rodney and Cheryl Erb, Bonnie and Ron Roth, Boyd and Donna Erb all of R.R. # 1 Millbank, Rebecca and Warren Diemert of Waterloo, Faye and Keith Schultz of R.R. # 1 Milverton, Tony and Cindy Erb of Elmira. Sadly missed by her 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Calvin Kelly, Albert and Marg Kelly, Melvin Kelly, John and Ruth Ann Kelly, Otto Mallon and Marie Leis. Mabel was predeceased by a daughter Mary Elizabeth in 1952, sisters Esther in infancy, Salome Mallon, brothers-in-law Ervin and Erma Erb, Gordon Leis, sisters-in-law Eunice Kelly, Freida and John Erb and Mary Erb. Mabel was a member of Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg where she was a member of the WMSC and also a member of the Haysville Sunshine Club. Mabel volunteered at the New Hamburg Thrift Store and Grand River Hospital for many years. Family and friends will be received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Saturday, February 14, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The interment will take place prior to the funeral service on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 2: 30 p.m. at the 19th Line East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery. The funeral service to celebrate Mabel's life will follow at 3: 30 p.m. at Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg with Pastor Jan Steckley and Pastor Kevin Peters Unrau officiating. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Hillcrest Mennonite Church (Mennonite Women) or Toronto Sick Children's Hospital (Stroke Unit).
