    PEDDIE, Mary Gwendoline

March 20, 1922 - October 22, 2018. It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our mother, who has gone to be with her husband and love of her life, Frederick Joseph. She leaves behind her four children David, Carolyn, Barry and Gail, 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Mary grew up in Oxford, England and met Fred, an RCAF pilot, during the war. She was a WREN with the British navy. After the war, they moved to Montreal, where they had three children. They later moved to Toronto and had their last child. Mary and Fred also lived in Mississauga and Cambridge. Mary lived at Elgin Lodge in Port Elgin and for the last few years, she lived at Trillium Court in Kincardine. Mary and Fred were active and enjoyed downhill skiing at Beaver Valley Ski Club, cross country skiing and hiking the Bruce Trail. She was an active golfer at the Galt Country Club. Her volunteer work included The Mississauga Hospital Auxiliary. In addition, she was a member of the Catholic Women's League in Galt and Mississauga. After Fred died, Mary continued to lead an active social life while volunteering. She was a member of the Galt Senior Centre, where she was an avid bridge player. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 3rd from 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., at Coutts Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, on 96 St. Andrews Street in Cambridge, ON., with a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at St. Gregory's church.
