BRODA, Jean Elvera Passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener. Jean resided at Nithview Community, New Hamburg and was born 83 years ago in New Hamburg. She was the daughter of the late Isaac and Gertrude (Gow) Nahrgang. Beloved wife of the late Frederick Broda who predeceased her March 27, 1987. Loving mother of Tom and Lois Broda of Milverton, Terry and Sandy Broda, Crystal Miller, Connie Connolly all of New Hamburg, Ronald and Joanne Broda of Sarnia, Kevin Broda and Sandra Semple of Bradford, Kim Broda of Clinton, Todd and Donna Broda of Plattsville, Brigit and Marcel Masey of London. Sadly missed by 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Bill and Rose Nahrgang of Rostock, Donna Lowe and friend Randy Snellgrove of Toronto. Also remembered by sisters-in-law Gloria Nahrgang of Kitchener and Janet Nahrgang of Cambridge. Jean was predeceased by her sons Robert (1971), Fred (1994), brothers Robert and Percy, sisters Katherine and Eric Schmidt and Joyce and Don Schwoob. Jean was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, New Hamburg and a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 532 Ladies Auxiliary, New Hamburg. In keeping with Jean's wishes, cremation has taken place. The memorial visitation will take place at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Sunday, August 22, 2010 from 7-9 and again Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The prayer service will take place on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment of cremated remains to follow at Holy Family Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Parkinson Society.
