    OLIVER MARTIN

    The death of Oliver Martin, 48, of R.R. 3, Wallenstein, occurred at the K-W Hospital, Tuesday, April 2nd.

    The son of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron W. Martin, Hawkesville, he was born in Wellesley Township Sept. 16, 1897. His marriage to the former Suzanne Martin, who survives him, took place Jan. 28, 1926. Mr. Martin farmed in the Wallenstein district all his life.

    Surviving, besides his parents and wife, are three sons, Leonard, Mahlon and Aaron, and two daughters, Edna and Laura, all at home. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. David (Adina) C. Martin, R.R. 1, Waterloo; Mrs. Onia (Alvina) Martin, Wallenstein, Miss Minerva Martin, Waterloo, and Almida Martin, Hawkesville, and six brothers, Alson, Josiah and David of Wallenstein, Sydney, Yatton and Orvie, Huntsville.

    The funeral service was held Friday afternoon at the late residence at 1:30 p.m., followed by a service at the Gospel Hall, Hawkesville. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery. John M. Martin was the speaker at the service.

    Oliver married Susanna Martin 28 Jan 1926, Waterloo Twp., Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada. Susanna (daughter of David L. Martin and Maria Wideman) was born 10 Oct 1904, Woolwich Twp., Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada; died 10 May 1986; was buried , Hawkesville Union Cemetery, Hawkesville, Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada. Cherished grandpa of Joshua Martin (Tricia) of Toronto, Rachelle Martin of Ottawa, Pierre Martin of Montreal and Rebecca Martin of Brussels, Belgium. Survived by his brothers Leonard Martin (Mary) and Aaron Martin (Florence) all of Elmira and sisters Edna Bauman (Mahlon) of Elmira and Laura Martin of Renfrew as well as many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Oliver and Susannah Martin and brother-in-law Ernie Martin.
