    ______________

    Nelson Cunningham.

If there is one class for which the Chronicle scribe takes pride in expressing words of praise and encouragement, it is young men who are first starting out on a business career for themselves. Mr. Cunningham is of this class, being now only in the twenty-third year of his age. He was born on the farm of his father, three miles from Hawksville, in 1875, where he was raised and lived until he went to Listowel to learn the tailoring trade. There he underwent a thorough course of instruction. He opened his present shop in Hawksville, on November 23rd last, and is now prepared to turn out a neat, perfect- fitting and stylish suit of clothes, just as prompt as the best of them. He has been encouraged by a fine patronage since he started in, and at present is compelled to work from the early hours of the morning until late in the night in order that he may not disappoint any of his customers. Mr. Cunningham is yet single, but as the matrimonial fever has been raging rather briskly of late, there is no telling what might happen in the near future in the way of changing his present mode of living. He is of a genial disposition a characteristic that is bound to make friends and patrons.
