    Notes:

    Martin. - Elam S., son of Mrs. Menno S. and the late Menno Martin, was born in Woolwich Twp., Ont., April 18, 1896; died at his home, by his own hand, March 14, 1948; aged 51 y. 10 m. 25 d. On Feb. 20, 1924, he was united in marriage to Elmina Lichty, who survives. Also surviving are 6 children (Vernon, Vera, Lorna, Mabel, Curtis, and Willis, all at home), his aged mother, 2 sisters (Mrs. Israel Bearinger, Elmira, Ont.; and Mrs. Absalom Frey, Linwood, Ont.). In his youth he united with the Mennonite Church, remaining a member until death. Funeral services were conducted at the St. Jacobs Mennonite Church on March 17, with Roy S. Koch in charge, assisted by Jesse B. Martin. Interment was made in the Conestoga Cemetery.

    Alma Man, 43 Fatally Injured In 2-Car Crash

    Vernon Martin, 43, of Alma, died Dec. 31 in K-W Hospital of injuries received in a two-car crash near Elora the day before. Mr. Martin's car was in collision with another vehicle driven by Harold Drimmie of Elora. Mr. Martin was taken first to hospital in Fergus. He was later transferred to the K-W Hospital where he died following an operation. He was the son of Mrs. Elam Martin and the late Mr. Martin, RR 1, Waterloo. He was born in Woolwich Township and was a member of Floradale Mennonite Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Eileen Gingrich; four sons, Kenneth 11, Frederick 9, Brian 8, and Rodney 4, and one daughter, Kristine 12; two brothers, Curtis of St. Jacobs and Willis of Kitchener; three sisters, Mrs. Willis (Vera) weber of Guernsey, Sask., Mrs. Floyd (Lorna) Shantz of Seaforth and Mrs. Mabel Snyder, RR 1, Waterloo. The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral parlor in Elmira until Wednesday noon, when removal was made to Floradale Mennonite Church. The committal service took place in the adjoining cemetery with memorial services in the church. Rev. Gerald Good officiated.

    SAUDER, Mabel Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Grand River Hospital, at the age of 89 years. Loving wife of Lewis Sauder. Dear mother of Gwendolyn Snyder (David Grove), Gail Snyder, Bonnie Snyder (Gary Southwell), mother-in-law of Shirley Snyder, stepmother of Kathy (Egan) Gotthardt, Renee Sauder (Fred Loganbill), Beverly Sauder, and stepmother-in-law of Evelyn Sauder (David Groleau). Cherished grandmother to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Will be missed by her siblings, Vera Weber, Lorna Shantz, Curtis (Ruth) Martin, Willis (Eva) Martin, sisters-in-law Eileen Martin, Beatrice Snyder, Naomi Sauder, brother-in-law Vernon Sauder, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Elam and Elmina (Lichty) Martin, first husband Orville Snyder (1963), sons Darcy Snyder and Timothy Snyder, stepson Gerald Sauder, and brother Vernon Martin. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, 1308 King St. N., St. Jacobs. A private family interment in St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery will take place prior to the service. In Mabel's memory, donations to Mennonite Central Committee or St. Jacobs Mennonite Church would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy
