She leaves her husband, 4 sons (Arthur, Oliver, Samuel, and George), 4 daughters (Alice, Matilda, Clara and Florence), her aged mother (Mrs. Ezra Martin), 5 sisters, 3 brothers, and a large number of relatives and friends. Sister Weber found her Savior in her teens, united with the Church of her choice, and remained true until death. Some of her outstanding Christian virtues were a devoted Christian mother, a careful keeper at home, a regular worshiper at Church, always ready to extend a helping hand. Bro. Noah Hunsberger conducted the service at the house. At the church Bro. Eph Snider conducted the opening service and Bro. J. B. Martin preached the sermon. Texts, Jno. 17: 24; Acts 16: 11-15. MARTIN, Ezra E.

On Saturday March 18, 1978, at his home in St. Jacobs, age 86 years. Husband of the late Louisa Bauman; father of Mrs. Orlan (Adeline) Martin of Route 1, Elmira, Onias of Wallenstein, Mrs. Elmina Brubacher at home, Milton of Route 2, West Montrose, Mrs. Samuel (Mary-ann) Martin of Elmira, Wayne of Savant Lake, Ont., Lovina at home, Anson of Stratford, Mervin of Route 3, Listowel. Also survived by 42 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Sister (sic) of Mrs. Samuel (Maryann) Horst of Route 1, St. Jacobs and Elias of St. Jacobs. Two sons, five brothers and one sister predeceased him. Friends called at the home in St. Jacobs. Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, March 21, with a private service at the home at 1 p.m. Removal was then made to Martin's Mennonite Meeting House for further service and burial in the adjoining cemetery.

MISS VERONICA E. MARTIN

Miss Veronica E. Martin, 84, of 44 Church St. East, Elmira, died suddenly. Monday night, June 1, at her home.

Born Oct. 14, 1894, near St. Jacobs, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel M. Martin, Sr.

Surviving are four brothers, Mannasah E., of Hawkesville Nathaniel E.. Jr., Ezra and Elias all of St. Jacobs. A sister, Mrs. Samuel W. (Marian) Horst of St. Jacobs.

The body rested at Dreisinger's Funeral Parlors, Elmira, until Wednesday morning when removal was made to the home of Mrs. Horst, St. Jacobs, for the funeral at 8:30 a.m. standard time. A service followed in Martin's Mennonite Meeting House. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

Alice was a devoted wife and loving mother, serving her family with joy. Humming or singing as she worked was common. She was a faithful member of Countryside Mennonite Fellowship for over 50 years. She was involved in the activities of the church, teaching Sunday School, going to sewing circle, and hosting many friends in their home.

In her retirement years, she pieced and knotted many baby comforters, not keeping track of how many she did. She was a wonderful example in accepting life as it happened \endash chuckling through difficult times. We will miss her cheerful spirit and presence.

Special thanks to the staff at Chartwell retirement and St. Mary's Hospital for their loving care.

A drive past visitation will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2021 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Countryside Mennonite Fellowship, 3745 Herrgott Road, Hawkesville.

A private family graveside service will be held on Monday, February 15, 2021 at Hillside Cemetery.

Maryann's love for her Saviour was reflected in her gentle and loving spirit through her service to others. Whether it was raising her large family, serving at church, or assisting fellow residents at Chateau Gardens she did so quietly and faithfully. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
