    Wilken, Ken - Peacefully on Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Heritage House, St. Jacobs with his family by his side, Ken Wilken, age 80 years of Elmira. Beloved husband and best friend of Shirley for 54 years. Loving dad to Deb and Hans Nuys of Elmira, Dawn and Dave Koebel of Elmira, Brad and Janice Wilken of Guelph. Special grandpa to Tina and Mike, Dawn, Nicole, Stephanie and Shannon, Tara and Connor and gret-grandpa to Aidan. Also lovingly remembered by his special family, Donna and Joe, Monica, Ryan and Jeremy, Judy and Doug. Brother of Jim Wilken of Waterloo and brother-in-law of Jean Schmidt of Kincardine, Liz and Ken Sholdice, Sarah, Velma and Nora Stephenson, all of Brussels. Predeceased by his great-grandchild; and by his parents, Russell and Ruby Wilken. At ken's request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. as well as one hour prior to the Memorial Service in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Hans Borch officiating. In Ken's memory, donations to Elmira Legion Branch 469, Poppy Fund or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy. Ken's family would like t othank all the wonderful staff at Heritage House for the tender loving care shown to Ken for two years and his caring buddy of over four years, Dave Martin. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 469 Elmira will assemble for a Memorial Service at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 6: 45 p.m.
