    Notes:

    The funeral of Mrs. Menno Bowman, 71, who died Friday at Martin's Rest Home, Elmira, was conducted Monday with a service at the home of Angus Weber, RR 1, Elmira at 9 am, followed by public service at the North Woolwich Mennonite Meeting House. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery. The body rested at the Dreisinger Funeral Parlor, Elmira, until 4 o'clock Friday where removal was made to the Weber home. Born Nov. 21, 1892, in Waterloo County, Mrs. Bowman was the former Rebecca Martin, daughter of the late MR. and Mrs. Reuben Martin. Her husband predeceased her in 1961. Surviving are six stepsons, Levi Bowman, RR 2, Wallenstein; Jesse, RR 1, St. Jacobs, Elias, RR 1, Wallenstein; Henry, RR 2, Alma; Aaron, Hamilton and John, RR 1, Elmira; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Angus (Lydia) Weber, RR 1 Elmira; a brother, Daniel, RR 1, Waterloo, and two sisters, Mrs. Josiah (Mary) Shalhorn, RR 2, Elmira and Mrs. Levi (Hannah) Bowman of Elmira. She was also predeceased by a brother and a sister.

    MRS AMANDA MARTIN

    Mrs. Amanda Martin, 65, of RR 1. Waterloo. died April 29. at K-W Hospital after a brief illness.

    Born in Woolwich Township Nov. 8. 1895. she was a daughter of the late Reuben Martin and his wife, the former Barbara Brubacher. Her first husband, Jonas Martin. died in 1941 and her second husband. Samuel Martin, to whom she was married in 1949. died in 1954.

    Survivors include two sons Ealm of RR 3, Waterloo, Enos of RR 2, Drayton; one daughter, Barbara of RR 3. Waterloo, one stepson. Elias of RR 2. West Montrose; three sisters, one brother and and six grand children. The body was at his home where the funeral was conducted Wednesday.

    ENOCH B. MARTIN

    Enoch B. Martin, 46, died Friday morning at St. Mary's Hospital, following a short illness. He was a son of Reuben Martin, R. R. 3, Waterloo.

    Surviving are his wife and five children, all at home. One brother, Daniel B. Martin, and four sisters, Mrs. Menno B. Bauman, Floradale, Mrs. Eli Bauman, Wallenstein, Mrs. Levi Bauman, Galt, and Mrs. Jonah Martin, at home, also survive.

    The funeral was held Monday morning at 9:30 from his late residence to Martin's Mennonite Church, Kitchener - Elmira Highway, for services and burial in the adjoining cemetery.

    Mrs. Levi Bowman, 58, of 24 First St., died at her home on Friday after a short illness. Mrs. Bowman, the former Hannah Martin, was born in Woolwich Township, April 13, 1907, and was a member of the Elmira Pentecostal Tabernacle. Surviving are her husband; two sons, Orville of Stratford and Leonard of Elmira; six daughters, Mrs. Amos (Selinda) Martin of Elora, Mrs. Alfred (Priscilla) Neargarth of Waterloo, Mrs. Robert (Salone) Brown of Acton, Mrs. Fred (Edna) Vandenberg of Elmira, and Carol and Grace at home; a brother, Daniel, and sister, Mrs. M. Shelhorn, both of Elmira; and 20 grandchildren. Mrs. Bowman was predeceased by two sons, a brother and two sisters. The body was at the Dreisinger Funeral Home in Elmira until Monday when removal was made to the Elmira Pentecostal Tabernacle for the funeral service at 2 p.m. Rev. Ralph Lyons officiated. Burial was in the Martin Mennonite cemetery. The casket was opened at the cemetery.

Mom made many slippers and blankets for all her children, Betty (Ray) Faulkner, James (Mildred) Martin, Helen (Doug) Mank, Ruth (Art) Bogue, Sandra (Bill) Pawlitzki, David (Gloria) Martin, Fred Martin and Penny, Sherry (Stephane) Martin-Legault. Slippers also provided to her 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Sister of the late Priscilla (Knechtel) Yanke, Saloma Merritt, Orvie Bowman, Leonard Bowman, Edna Vandenberg, Carol Shantz and Grace Bowman. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Elmira Pentecostal Assembly, 290 Arthur St. S., Elmira, on Monday, August 2, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 3, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Also survived by her step-children, Sandy Scott (Doug), Terry Yanke (Heather), Glenn Yanke (Sally), Stu Yanke (Chris) and Linda Morris. Grandmother of Murray Leis (Janette), James Leis, Robert Leis, Rachel McKay, Joshua Knechtel, Zackery Knechtel and Melody Knechtel; great-grandmother of Alyssa and Ashley Leis.
