    Miss Alice Georgena Meldrum - After a lengthy illness, Miss Alice Meldrum passed away at the Bellview Private Hospital in Burford on Thursday, December 15th. Miss Meldrum was born in Ayr, a daughter of the late Dr. Norman Meldrurn and Mrs. Meldrum. In her younger days she was active in different organizations in the village. She was a member of Knox United Church and for many years sang in the choir. She was particularly interested in the young people's society, and directed many of the plays that were produced. She did social service work in Toronto and was superintendent of "Tweedsmuir House" for several years. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Fergus Anderson of Guelph. A brother, Dr. William Meldrum of Norwich, passed away a number of years ago. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral took place from Knox United Church, Ayr, on Saturday afternoon. Rev. J. W. V. Buchanan conducted the service. Pallbearers were: Dr. G. E. D. Wilson, N. H. Bennett, W. G. Hall, R. N. Baxter, G. S. Dalrymple and R. E. Lovett.
